Darker nights mean cats are more at risk of being involved in a road traffic accident during autumn and winter. Here are five tips from our vets to help your cat to stay safe 🐱

Be prepared - make sure your cat is microchipped and is covered by pet insurance should anything happen. 2 - Neuter - By neutering your cat they’ll be much less likely to roam in search of a mate or get into fights. 3. Daylight - Keep your cat indoors at night and let them out during daylight hours. To help with this, you can try feeding your cat when it starts to get dark so they’ll come back for the night. 4. The secure outdoors - If you live in a busy area with lots of traffic, consider only letting your cat out into a secure garden or safe outdoor area. 5. Visibility - Reflective collars can help drivers see cats in the dark or in poor light. Choose a break-away style collar which will open if your cat catches it on a fence, branch or other object while they’re out exploring.]

We try and support the local cat rescue charities, when we can.

So when a Cotswolds Cat Centre fundraising volunteer approached us for a prize we were happy to provide a voucher for three nights stay for one cat at The Kitz 😻

Alice has joined us for some work experience for the past few days, she's been a great help at a busy time 🤩

Otis enjoyed her company too 😻

Alice is hoping to go to university to study to become a vet. She is looking for voluntary work experience placements working animals, if any one knows of somewhere or has any suggestions please comment 😀

It's been another busy week at The Kitz, so I have been pleased to have Jessica helping on work experience placement.

Jessica is hoping to go to university to become a vet 🤩 she worked hard while here and to a high standard and was approved by Albert 😺
