CHANGE IS ON THE HORIZON - Competition Markets Authority investigation into veterinary practices.

Today we received an email from the CMA to answer a questionnaire about our veterinary practice. The majority of practices will receive this, promoted by the hike in veterinary prices over the past decade fuelled by the major corporations who buy up independent practices and continue to trade under their name. We have two in Evesham.

We have always published our prices online and there is no reason why any veterinary practice should not do so.

As an advocate for fair pricing and most importantly clarity, we hope this will alleviate some of the financial pressures of pet ownership.

If two of the fixed practices in Evesham are owned by IVC, leaving one further corporate and one fixed independent, choice in Evesham is limited. All practices in Evesham use VETSNOW an also owned IVC business for out of hours. (Abbey Vets Broaday offer one for their customers).

Evesham Vets have always offered our own out of hours service available to all. For serious hospitalisation we have two partners, who are genuine 24/7 hospitals.

Did you know, if your animal needed emergency care, you need to travel to Worcester. Should your companion need to be kept in for hospitalisation, you need to transfer your companion back to your day vets here in Evesham and then back again when they close.

This practice alone adds significant costs to your veterinary bills. We hope the CMA's investigation will shine a spot light bright enough for pet owners to make informed choices.

Our service is limited to a paramedic level of care and we are a single vet practice. You do not need to be registered to use our business, but we cannot help everyone. You can still use us even if you are registered elsewhere. We are mobile and will come to you, supporting Evesham pet families with clear published pricing and offering a service that does not exist here in Evesham.

We are pleased to announce after being contacted by the Scottish Haggis Wildlife Trust we have completed our advanced veterinary certificate to treat the infamous Scottish Haggis.

Whilst it is rare to find them in Evesham, they make excellent companion pets, are great with children and can mix with BOTH cats and dogs.

We have invested in a new piece of equipment, a haggiser. A small wand type contraption that allows the immediate revival of any Scottish Haggis found to be sleeping. ( A Haggis sleeps that deep, people mistakenly think they are no longer with us) A real issue.

CAT MICROCHIPS THE LAW IS CHANGING. From June 10th 2024 you must microchip your cat. PLEASE SHARE 😻🐈‍⬛️🐈

Cats can sometimes be the more difficult of companions to take to a fixed practice. Between now and June 10th we will be offering at home microchips for cats for only £20.

**** if you book your cats vaccination with us we will chip for ONLY £10.****

Microchip only appointments will be dlotted in and around our regular visits and they will be an in and out service that takes 5 to 10 minutes. Your cat will need to be in a safe place upon our arrival (we can't chase them for you).

Your microchip will be registered and a certificate emailed to you.
