The Farm Animal Sanctuary Established over 30 years ago, The Farm Animal Sanctuary is the UK's first of its kind. Support our vital work through donations, sponsorships, and visits.

We provide a safe haven for over 600 rescued farm animals, including sheep, pigs, and horses. Farm animals are global. They are not endangered, exotic or wild. They are animals who are born and raised for their meat and milk, and throughout the world very often do this with a minimum of care. Care costs time and money, and they’re not considered to be worth either. They are just another product, a

lthough unlike other food products such as grains, fruits and vegetables, they bleed when they are injured. They die from fear and stress. They suffer distress when their young are taken away from them. They can be kept until they are too old to stand as long as they can still produce milk or offspring. They can then be travelled hundreds of miles, enduring awful conditions, to be slaughtered without pre-stunning. There are very few places throughout the world where farm animals can find sanctuary to be able to live out their lives in peace, to be treated with kindness and respect. We watch these animals become comfortable and confident. We see their characters develop. We admire their intelligence and the way they embrace their peaceful surroundings. We watch them begin to play and finally become content. They form close companionships and soon recognise the people who care for them and look after them. They ask for very little. For us it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of their daily lives. This is why we are here.

Wow, what an incredible weekend 🎄🎅🏼.
From the moment our gates swung open at 3pm, you kept coming in 👏🏼. We had nearly 350 supporters join us to celebrate the festivities 🎄.

Your support and all the lovely comments about how wonderful the sanctuary looked truly overwhelmed us 🎄.
This means so much to us ❤️. We’ve put in a lot of effort over the past few weeks, and there were times we felt like there just weren’t enough hours in the day, but we made it happen, and what a fantastic time we all enjoyed 🎄🎅🏼.

On that note, I want to extend a massive thank you to all the dedicated staff and everyone who helped us prepare for Christmas, and a special shoutout to our main man Lewis, who we all cheer for when the lights go out 😂🎄. Santa 🎅🏼, thank you for making the long trip to see us; we look forward to your next visit when you stop by to see everyone on the nice list 🎅🏼🤞🏼.

That was our final event for 2025, and we definitely wrapped up the year on a high note.

From the moment our day began until it ended, it has been pouring with rain, it was dreadful outside 🌧️. Luckily we ain’t scared of no rain 😂.
We salute all the hardworking outdoor folks 🫡, we embrace the tough times to make sure our animals are well-fed, have hay 🌾 and cozy straw beds in their shelters 🥰.

BLACK FRIDAY WON’T LAST! However, with a little assistance from you 🫵🏼 The Farm Animal Sanctuary can endure for a lifetime – that’s our promise to every animal that has entered our care. ❤️🐾
A lifetime filled with love, care, and respect. Currently, we are just about 3 weeks away from the end of our lease and we are incredibly close to reaching our target amount 🤞🏼🤞🏼.
This season is the most costly for us – we are purchasing feed and bedding to sustain us through the winter ❄️ . Hay and straw yields have dropped by 40% in many areas due to the dry summer – this means demand is high and prices are soaring 😩.

We also have legal expenses related to the purchase that need to be settled. We truly need a financial boost very soon 🤞🏼👏🏼.
