The Farm Animal Sanctuary Established over 30 years ago, The Farm Animal Sanctuary is the UK's first of its kind. Support our vital work through donations, sponsorships, and visits.

We provide a safe haven for over 600 rescued farm animals, including sheep, pigs, and horses. Farm animals are global. They are not endangered, exotic or wild. They are animals who are born and raised for their meat and milk, and throughout the world very often do this with a minimum of care. Care costs time and money, and they’re not considered to be worth either. They are just another product, a

lthough unlike other food products such as grains, fruits and vegetables, they bleed when they are injured. They die from fear and stress. They suffer distress when their young are taken away from them. They can be kept until they are too old to stand as long as they can still produce milk or offspring. They can then be travelled hundreds of miles, enduring awful conditions, to be slaughtered without pre-stunning. There are very few places throughout the world where farm animals can find sanctuary to be able to live out their lives in peace, to be treated with kindness and respect. We watch these animals become comfortable and confident. We see their characters develop. We admire their intelligence and the way they embrace their peaceful surroundings. We watch them begin to play and finally become content. They form close companionships and soon recognise the people who care for them and look after them. They ask for very little. For us it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of their daily lives. This is why we are here.

Something magical is happening at the sanctuary this summer... 🌟

Freedom Fields Festival returns 25-26 July!

Two days of live music, delicious vegan street food, talks, workshops, yoga and a kids' area. All here on the farm, surrounded by our 600+ rescued residents 🐾

You might have joined us for an open day or a Sheepover, but Freedom Fields is the farm in full festival mode. Something happening every minute, all weekend long.

Camp under the stars amongst the animals for the full weekend ⛺️, or come along for a fantastic family day out, with day tickets from just £10.

Yes, there are two goats up there, mother and son, Chester and Chip 🐐🥰😂.
They are so similar, it's hard to believe! Both are cheeky, delightfully naughty, and always getting into trouble. If anyone is in a place they shouldn't be, it's definitely these two 😂🐐.
However, they do know where the best Willow tree is located 🌱.
Big Lanty is patiently waiting for them to drop some of the good stuff ❤️🐐.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of the animal world's most dedicated advocates, Patricia Bernie 😢

Many people will remember Patricia as the remarkable woman who helped us get established and grow into who we are today at Manor Orchard Farm ❤️.

Patricia had an enormous heart and was kind to everyone. This was evident in the many years she devoted to rescuing animals.
Her true passion was for cats, and she played a vital role in the rescue of countless felines 🐈

What an extraordinary woman she was and what a remarkable life she led ❤️

Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this time, but I believe they will find comfort in knowing that the legacy she built continues to thrive ❤️🐈🐾❤️

Spending a Penny (it costs a lot)

The tough economic situation has left us without a sponsor for the restrooms at our Freedom Fields Festival 😩.
Previously, we had a sponsor for the restrooms, but they let us know last year that they couldn't continue 😢.
Finding a new sponsor has been nearly impossible in this challenging economic climate, and we completely understand that companies have their own priorities.
So, we're hoping you all might pitch in to help us rent some nice, clean, eco-friendly restrooms, including at least one that accommodates disabled individuals 🤞🏼😘.

We're super excited about hosting our Freedom Fields Festival in July, and if you can assist us with the festival, we would be incredibly thankful.
