We provide a safe haven for over 600 rescued farm animals, including sheep, pigs, and horses. Farm animals are global. They are not endangered, exotic or wild. They are animals who are born and raised for their meat and milk, and throughout the world very often do this with a minimum of care. Care costs time and money, and they’re not considered to be worth either. They are just another product, a

lthough unlike other food products such as grains, fruits and vegetables, they bleed when they are injured. They die from fear and stress. They suffer distress when their young are taken away from them. They can be kept until they are too old to stand as long as they can still produce milk or offspring. They can then be travelled hundreds of miles, enduring awful conditions, to be slaughtered without pre-stunning. There are very few places throughout the world where farm animals can find sanctuary to be able to live out their lives in peace, to be treated with kindness and respect. We watch these animals become comfortable and confident. We see their characters develop. We admire their intelligence and the way they embrace their peaceful surroundings. We watch them begin to play and finally become content. They form close companionships and soon recognise the people who care for them and look after them. They ask for very little. For us it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of their daily lives. This is why we are here.

Yesterday we had a clear TB test 👏🏼.
It is always a huge worry for us at TB testing time, we are always relieved when we have a clear read off 🥳🐮❤️.

Last week concluded on a somber note as we bid farewell to Coral, one of our longest-standing residents at the sanctuary 😢💔.
Coral was a charming little pony who, due to a traumatic beginning, had always been wary of people. However, as she matured, she gradually came to understand that not all humans were as unkind as her early experiences had led her to believe ❤️.

A remarkably strong-willed pony, Coral possessed a fighting spirit that surpassed that of any other pony or horse I have encountered ❤️.

We were fortunate to have her with us for over 28 years, and she was well into her 30s at the time of her passing 😢.
In her final years, she shared her life with Joel and Fred, the larger ponies, and she truly belonged among them ❤️🐴.
Her absence will be profoundly felt by all of us 💔

🎄Wow, what an incredible turnout we had yesterday for our Christmas fair! 🎄
We welcomed over 350 enthusiastic visitors, and despite Storm Bert, spirits were high and joy was in the air!❤️
It truly warmed our hearts to hear such kind words and to receive so much appreciation for the effort everyone put into making this event a success 🥰

A heartfelt thank you to all our fabulous stall holders—we absolutely loved having you there! ❤️
A special shoutout to Golden Glaze doughnuts for treating us to the most delicious doughnuts and warm drinks that kept everyone cozy 🍩😍
We’re also immensely grateful to Plantugese for providing their mouthwatering hot food at such short notice; it was a delight to have you at the Sanctuary! 👌🏼💚
Our lovely donkeys, sheep, and even the cows enjoyed all the attention and were thrilled to see you 🐮🫏🐑❤️

🎉 Happy Birthday, Louise! 🎉

Today we celebrate our wonderful Louise, who turns 8️⃣ today! 🐮❤️
She has blossomed into a beautiful and cheeky cow, full of curiosity and joy 🥰.
Louise enjoyed her special day surrounded by family and friends, indulging in delicious veggie treats 🥦🥬 and a delightful cow lick bucket 👅 .

Today, we were greeted by a stunning winter wonderland at the sanctuary, with snow blanketing everything in sight ❄️.
It felt like the animals joined us in our surprise; their reactions were just as amusing 🥰🐾.
The sight of cows frolicking in the snow 🐮, pigs gleefully digging 🐷, and sheep blissfully lounging 🐑 reminded us of nature’s joyful simplicity ❤️.
Meanwhile, our turkeys and chickens preferred the comfort of their coops, clearly skeptical of this unfamiliar white terrain 🦃❄️!

It was a day that perfectly combined the serenity of a snowy landscape with the lively spirit of our furry and feathered friends ☃️🐾.
Here at the Sanctuary, our commitment to the well-being of our animals continues, as we ensure they stay warm and happy, regardless of what Mother Nature throws our way ❤️

Just two weeks until our Big Give Christmas Challenge launches! 🚀
On 3rd December at 1200 we will be raising funds to feed our animals over Christmas 🎄🐾This online campaign will double every donation due to matched giving – our wonderful pledgers and champions have already made sure that they will fund that 👏🏼❤️.
We last ran a Christmas Challenge Appeal in 2022 and it was a huge success 🥳.
Times are a bit tougher now but we still hope that if you can spare £1, £10 or £100 we will use it to ensure that our animals receive the care and respect they deserve 🐾❤️.

If you can Gift Aid your donation then £1 will become £2.50 and £10 will become £25 and so on………..at no additional cost to you!
🎄❤️ We want our animals to have a Happy Christmas and I’m sure you do too. Thank you so much for your help ❤️🎄
