💜Most people are unaware that as well as the traditional commemorative Red Poppy, there's also a Purple Poppy to remember the animals that we lost during conflicts. 💜

5️⃣ YEARS 🍾🥂 Yesterday marked the anniversary of my business adventure. I would be lying if I said it's been a breeze, but we are still going strong. None of it would be possible without my amazing team, supportive clients, friends & family 🫶

Our 2025 diary is officially open 📅 Over the next few weeks, I will be working my way through the block bookings to ensure you're all booked in. If you haven't already sent your preferences, please get in touch, and I'll do my best to accommodate.

For now, I'm going to enjoy the weekend with this view visiting friends 🌄

🌟Remember, remember your pets this November

Here's some helpful tips to hopefully ensure a stressfree firework season 🎆🎇

✅️ Create safe zone/den

☑️ Walk and feed early, preferably in daylight hours to give them time to digest and toilet.

✅️ Play or create distractions, i.e., kongs, lickimats, slow feeder, hide treats in a cardboard box

☑️ Try some herbal calming drops, HerbalCalm (Herbal Dog), Skullcap & Valerian (Dorwest Herbs), Rescue Remedy (Supermarket)

✅️ Put the radio or TV on to muffle the sounds of fireworks going off outside

❤️ It's OK to reassure your pet ❤️

⬇️ S A F E • Z O N E 🐾

Do you have a crate/cage/den area? 💭

Make it cosy, warm & safe for your dog, especially over the firework season 💥💣🎆

✔ Cover over, including the sides
✔ Feed your dog inside the area or prepare a kong/brain stimulating equivalent
✔ Allow them free access. Dont lock them in!

Leia came to us a couple of weeks ago for a full groom ✂️ Today she came to have her first Emmipet teeth cleaning session. Although she didn't have a huge amount of plaque, we were able to remove what was present and show off her pearly whites 🦷

We will now be able to carry out maintenance sessions when she comes for her grooming sessions to keep them looking and feeling fresh 🤍

▪️Price Increase▪️
It has been a pleasure grooming your Beautiful Dogs this year, but sadly, due to rising costs, we will be slightly increasing our prices from Friday, 1st November 2024.

When pricing the groom, this will be done on an individual dog basis and not necessarily a set price per breed. This is due to the varying amounts of work within each breed.

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone, but we aim to ensure our prices reflect the high-quality standards we pride ourselves on and are committed to providing you with an excellent service this coming year.

The 2025 diary will be opening shortly. Please email or Facebook message us with your preferred dates/times/block bookings, and I will do my best to accommodate.

Finding that work-life balance is crucial, especially being a parent, which is why we are closed weekends. The football season has started, which means every weekend is dedicated to being pitch side, either watching my son or husband play ⚽️

Just a quick post regarding the warm weather🥵, as there's still the minority that still require educating 😥

● Here's a few helpful tips you can do at home ● 🌞 ☀️ 🌞

🐾 Remain on top of grooming (removing excess dead hair and knots), allowing the air to flow through the coat.

💦 Offer plenty of fresh water, make some frozen treats, or spoil them with doggy ice cream 🧊

🐾 Dog's sweat through their pads, spray them with cool water, or allow them access to a paddling pool.

🐾 Soak towels for them to lay on or purchase a cool mat.

🐾 There are various cool coats available, research the internet for suitability.

🐾 Create shaded areas where they can escape and walk them at suitable times during the day. Ideally, first thing in the morning or late at night, test the ground with the back of your hand (can you hold it down for 5secs? If not, its too hot for their pads)

⛔️NO DOG HAS DIED FROM MISSING A WALK⛔️

🚗 NEVER LEAVE THEM IN YOUR CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES 🚗

They can find their way into places you wouldn't even imagine 🔍 The most common places are between toes, armpits, and ears

These horrible little critters have been making an appearance in the salon lately 🤢

Ticks can carry Lymes disease https://www.pdsa.org.uk/pet-help-and-advice/pet-health-hub/conditions/lyme-disease-in-dogs-and-cats

They not only feed on your pets but can also feed on people, too!

Speak to your Veterinarian for preventative products or look into natural holistic alternatives 🌿🍀🍃

Here at Beautiful Dogs, we no longer have a set puppy package as all puppies are different. So we tailor small, regular visits, from having a bath, gradually building up confidence to having their first full groom. Pleasant frequent grooming is strongly encouraged to prevent issues as they get older.

Booking a first full groom for your 5,6,7,8,9mth puppy is potentially going to create a scared, fearful dog who doesn't like coming to the groomers. We understand that not all dogs enjoy a groom (just like children going to school or adults going to the dentist), but the goal is that they are happy to tolerate it safely and calmly ✂️🧼🛁🐾
