Highly pathogenic H5N1 has been confirmed at a premises near Braunton, North Devon, Devon.

A Captive Bird Monitoring Controlled Zone (CBMCZ) has been put in place.

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures to prevent future outbreaks.

Latest update ref bird flu…

In response to the increased avian influenza risk, an Prevention Zone will be introduced across England and Scotland as of noon 25 January 2025.

This means that, from this time, it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers in England and Scotland to follow strict biosecurity measures to protect their birds in addition to following any Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions that apply.

We have a customer and friend who has 6 hens she wishes to find a new home for , various ages . 3 of which are blue egg layers . Hopefully they can go as one flock .No charge just assurances of a happy home . Recent pictures hence the muddy run ☺️

If you live or work in Exeter, Cullompton, Crediton, Exmouth, Honiton, Tiverton, Sidmouth or Ottery St Mary, you can help the environment and your local hospice this Christmas 🏠

On 9, 10 and 11 January 2025, our team of fabulous volunteers will be heading out in force, in partnership with to collect and recycle Christmas Trees across your area in return for a donation. 🎄

Last year, we collected over 2,000 trees from local households and businesses, saving over 33104KG in CO2e emissions by preventing them from going in to landfill.

By registering your tree for collection before Sunday 5 January 2025, you’ll be helping the planet and making a real difference to local patients and their families. 💖
