A lovely and busy celebration at St Thomas Precinct Coop.

It was great to meet so many other local causes in our communities, in Exeter and beyond, in Devon, including : Sidmouth voluntary services and Honiton Carers! good luck to the new causes and thank to our local for the support this year!

Getting ready to make leaf-mould, collecting leaves at the paddling pool in Exeter City Council ' St Thomas Pleasure Ground on a sunny afternoon 🍁

There is so much resources in our parks and green spaces. By collecting leaves here, we do not remove resources that would otherwise feed the soil, plants and the trees, and we're cleaning up our community facilities at the same time!

Seasons are changing and the garden too... Last tomatoes turned into chutney, seed harvested, and winter salad growing. A bit of tying up too ... We try to keep it low key and carbon free with a manual mower, kindly lent by

We still have a few things on our mini stall at , trialling leafy greens in a bucket of water to keep them fresh, and maybe soon some chutney!

I really like this simple poster by the Permaculture Association.

We're lucky in St Thomas with quite a few local and independent food retailers and producers, the Brillsville Market St Thomas, Love Food CIC food hub, and quite a few gardens to grow a bit of our food together... as well as organic farms on our doorstep 🥕🍎🍏

🥕🌍 Want to lower your food footprint? Start with what’s on your plate.

Eating local and seasonal food is one of the easiest ways to take climate action — and it tastes better too! Here are 3 simple ways to get started:

1️⃣ Shop at your local farmers’ market or veg box scheme
2️⃣ Learn what’s in season and plan your meals around it
3️⃣ Grow your own herbs or veggies – even a windowsill counts!

Small shifts in how we eat can make a big difference for the planet. 🌱💚

I have been saving some seeds of the tomatoes growing our polytunnel.

I usually just take the seeds out of the tomatoes, spread them on a tissue and let them dry, ready to sow! They have always germinated very well.

This year I had a go at fermenting the seeds before drying them, just letting them in their gel to ferment for a couple of days so their anti-germination coating disappear. They're less sticky and a bit easier to store maybe? Well, I'll sow both next year and we'll see which one does better.

any surplus seeds may go to Exeter Seed Bank 🫛
