Forgot to upload pictures from Friday as was too excited (and amidst chaos) getting to River Dart Country Park for Scarlett and I’s weekend camping!

It was so lovely to get back out with the doggies today after a fantastic weekend. Feeling very humble in life ❤️

The group today were particularly happy in the sun and eager to get into the river for some proper swims!

A super busy Thursday followed by a manic evening preparing to go away camping at River Dart Country park this weekend! 🚐 ⛺️

Pippin looks so different with her close clip (the shorter hair was much easier to wash cow pat off today though 🙄), lovely to be able to see her eyes beyond her ridiculously long cockapoo eyelashes though! 👀

Just a heads up to anyone that walks at Ridgetop - it will be closed over the coming days for some well needed grass maintenance!!

First walk with me since October last year for gorgeous fox red lab Archie! He is a timid, shy boy so we will be working up to his planned regular double walks with the groups over the next few weeks. A great individual walk back with him today though, I’m pretty sure he soon remembered me ❤️

Doug looks completely different after his shave and Otis the greyhound x bully looking huge next to the cockapoos up at Stoke Woods this afternoon! 😂

End of our 3 night pet sit tomorrow morning and we have loved it! Can’t wait to stay with these two again in August! Maize had a great time out on double groups Thursday and Friday. Dottie did amazing in her first small group on Friday and van travelling. They both had the time of their lives at the beach today ❤️

Also photo dump from Friday generally!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Nellie, Lettie & Pip (all from Topsham) all out on double walks today! Thursdays are hectic but such fun yet chilled groups!

Archie (another red lab 😅😅 and also from Topsham) is coming back to the NLOL pack for regular double walks from next month and I can’t wait to see his face again!

Seems there is a gap in the market for Labrador walkers in Topsham 😂😂🥳🥳

22/05/2024

May invoices have been emailed out guys 😊

Looking forward to an individual introductory walk with Chester next Tuesday! I seem to be accumulating a lot of fox red Labrador’s recently 😅😅😂😂

Words can’t describe how much I’m going to miss you. I’m so glad you spent your last couple of years back with me 🙏🏻

Thank you for being you. The pup who we lost in the New Forest for 3 hours chasing deer, who lay with me whilst pregnant with Scarlett and in agony waiting for an ambulance, who ate through at least one advent calendar every Christmas, who loved paddling but never swimming, who would wait for me to make my bed each morning ready to jump straight on, the fussiest eater ever, the fluffiest dog ever (I’m sure I’ll be hoovering bits of you for weeks yet), who would chase horses and jump in the yard chicken hutch, who I would share ice creams with in summer, who never in her life wore a collar, who would lay right in the middle of the walkway at any pub, the husky who ran free and off lead with her many 4 pawed friends and didn’t take any s**t!

“Dogs lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog, and there's going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can't support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There's such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.
Maybe loving dogs is a way we do penance for all the other illusions we allow ourselves and the mistakes we make because of those illusions” ~ Dean Koontz

Lots of rolling around in the long grass today!

“Animals have come to mean so much in our lives. We live in a fragmented and disconnected culture. Politics are ugly, religion is struggling, technology is stressful, and the economy is unfortunate. What’s one thing that we have in our lives that we can depend on? A dog or a cat loving us unconditionally, every day, very faithfully.” – Jon Katz

Posting this from Exmouth sea front… mine and Roxy’s first night basic camping in the van and it has been such an experience! 🏝️

Thinking back to Friday, the first big group of the day had a great time exploring other parts of Ridgetop and we have found a new route to change things up a little! 🌾

Yesterday I did an ultra excursion up at Woodbury and it was a beautiful few hours in the sun, but feeling the breeze and regular stops at streams to cool down and have a splash 💦

Photo dump from today and yesterday! 📷

I’ll admit with the weather having significantly warmed up we are taking more breaks to take in the gorgeous views or stopping a little longer for a paddle and drink at the streams🥵 ☀️

Time to get the sun cream out I think and the dry robe packed away 💪🏻 🌞

Today has left me feeling super optimistic and excited for my first spring/summer walking all your wonderful dogs! For some reason walking in shorts and a t-shirt just feels a whole kind of different! 🩳👕

Lovely to see a community walk up at Ridgetop today too, exploring one of the amazing green spaces we have in Exeter and all their doggies making new friends 🌾

I want to share something that happened today that I’m truly grateful for. Whilst out walking I was approached by a gentleman who said he had been watching me with the dogs and he wanted to let me know how impressed he was at how well behaved they all were. When I told him that none of them were mine and a couple of them had only been walking with me for a few weeks he said he couldn’t believe how well I “controlled them”… we will interpret that part as how well they listened and responded😅

It really is an absolute joy to just be able to watch all the dogs playing happily together, respecting each other’s boundaries, blowing off some steam and exhibiting normal behaviours exploring the different environment.

We all had a lot of fun today, despite the puddles ☔️ 🌧️
