We would like to ask everyone who rides with us, that if you haven't filled one out in the last 6 months could you please head to our website to do so before your next lesson

As an extra our Pony Club Group performed a Christmas musical ride on Monday and we hope to be able to share a video soon. It's tricky riding in such a big group and getting all the timings and movements right but they aced it!

Good Morning we are hoping everyone is safe in these conditions we are going to cancel all outside lessons (Andree and Wayne) again today but if you are riding with Daisy she will be in the Indoor School so we are planning to go ahead.

Please ring in and confirm that you are able to get here or to rebook your next lesson.

Only Bea's lessons are running today and they will be indoors

Due to Storm Bert we have made the decision to only run one instructor. If you have lessons booked with Daisy or Wayne your lesson is cancelled today - we have moved everyone who is a regular over to their next lesson.

Due to an increasing number of no shows and last minute cancellations we will now be requiring:

A 50% deposit to be paid on booking for any new riders or those that haven't ridden with us for a long time.

50% to be paid for any cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson time.

If people don't show /cancel last minute we are unable to re-fill the lesson and have put time/cost into getting the horses ready leaving us short.

🚨Road closure🚨

There is a section of Cowick Lane closed outside West Exe School and will be until 8th November.

It's best to approach the stables from Cowick Lane from the St Thomas side and turn up crabb lane.

You can't turn right at the Sainsbury's traffic lights when coming from the city centre or go straight across from Sainsbury's itself - please add extra time to your journey!

🐎~ Wanted~ 🐎

We are looking for horses to join our team at Oakland’s, lease/loan/buy or working livery considered.

Ideally between 14.2-15.2hh although other heights considered for the right horse. 8yrs or over, although we would look at a younger if they have had life experience and an old head.

We teach a wide variety of clients from beginners to advanced riders (including the University BUCS teams) so we are looking for a few different types that are schooled to ride on the flat and over fences

The first is a horse who can produce a Novice/Elementary level dressage test and/or jump a 90cm course.

The second is a horse who is maybe looking for a steadier pace of life to teach our up-and-coming riders the ropes

Finally a steady and gentle weight carrier/cob type for our Riding for the Disabled Clients

Any shape or size welcome – ifs, buts and imperfections understood!

We offer a varied life with 24-hour supervision and all year round turnout available. 5* yard with references on request and over 50 years experience in the industry. Many options if finances are a consideration, happy to chat through any questions.

Job vacancy

We have the following vacancy for one full time or two part time members of staff to join our established team

Full Time Groom 5 days a week or 2x Part Time Grooms 2/4 days a week including a weekend day.

We are looking for someone who can work as part of an established team to cover all aspects of horse care/ stable management and take pride in presenting horses for customers, and is capable of assisting with lessons. We provide educational lessons for all ages and abilities from beginner children and adults, disabled riders right through to experienced riders. This is not a riding position but some hacking to es**rt rides is a possibility.

We are more than happy to offer help in training towards exams.

There is also the opportunity to teach
