Welcome to Fox & Hounds - exciting, enriching and exhaustingly long walks for wonderful dogs in the Exeter area 🐾
Your four-pawed pal will love coming on a wild adventure with me (Vanessa Fox).
I take small groups of canine explorers out of the city for 1.5 hour+ discovery walks in the wild places and offbeat trails across our corner of Devon.
If you need a guilt-free day to focus on life, work, or family, or if your gorgeous doggo deserves a special treat, sign them up for an exciting trip out with me, so that you can all end the day feeling happily worn-out.

When: Lunchtimes, 7 days a week
How long: Minimim 1.5hrs off-road hiking (with maximum off-lead time for dogs who have good recall)
Locations: Woodbury, Haldon, Killerton, Exmouth, Fingle Bridge, or similar
Cost: £25 per dog
Group size: maximum 5 dogs
Pick-ups: Within Exeter, from 11am
Drop-offs: by 3pm
Transport: by car, with seatbelt harnesses or in the boot. Absolutely no cages. Fully insured for business use,
Requirements: all dogs must be sterilised (no entire males or un-neutered females); group walks are not suitable for aggressive or reactive dogs

About me:
I’ve always been surrounded by animals. I spent most of my childhood on horseback and have had wonderful dogs in my life for many years. My current anipals - Kondi (labrador, 14), Dinka (terrier, 13), and Mew (truculent moggy, 8 ) - all joined the family during the decade I was living in East Africa (where I worked in the international development sector).
During the pandemic I volunteered to ‘free run’ two gorgeous working Guide Dogs, Alice and Ieuan. Taking them out two or three times a week for long yomps through the countryside was a delightful privilege. It also sparked the idea for Fox & Hounds - an opportunity to provide a different kind of service for dogs who need more stimulation and greater distances than the average Exeter dog walkers can provide in the local parks.
This also coincided with my own lovely doggies reaching their dotage. With my adventure partners needing to take it easier, the opportunity to turn my love of dogs and the outdoors into a small business arose.
And so, Fox & Hounds was born!
