Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA)

Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA) Little Valley is a self-funded branch of the RSPCA based in Exeter, Devon. Reg Charity No: 205154
(320)

Little Valley Animal Shelter is owned and run by the South, East and West Devon Branch of the RSPCA and is located on the outskirts of Exeter. The Shelter, founded in 1991, supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming over 1000 of the neediest animals from our local area every year. Little Valley’s running costs are in the region of £10,000 per week and, although we are p

roud to be affiliated with the RSPCA, sadly we receive no automatic funding and we therefore have to rely totally on local support from our own community to fund our vital animal welfare work. All animals stay at the Shelter until they are adopted into caring, responsible homes. A homechecker visits every prospective owner and follow-up checks are made to ensure the animal is well and settled. The Shelter can accept a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, aviary birds, farm animals and equines. We also hold wildlife, pending their transfer to RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton. Animals are only put to sleep on veterinary advice or because of incurable behavioural problems.

This beautiful young lady is called Nhala and is about 4 years old. She is a chatty, friendly girl who enjoys human company but can become worried by physical contact. She would like new owners who are happy to give her the time she needs to grow in confidence and learn to trust them. She does enjoy small amounts of fuss but can sometimes panic if it becomes too much. Nhala is a very active cat and loves to play and explore. She would like a new home with lots of safe, outdoor areas for her to enjoy. She would be best suited to an adult only home where she is the only pet.

Hey guys I'm Sox- a smart, active, and determined 2-year-old Lab X, dreaming of finding a special someone to share my toys, adventures and snuggles with🥰

I was sadly found abandoned, but since arriving at Little Valley I’ve been working really hard to build my confidence and have made progress feeling more at ease around other dogs – though I still prefer to keep my distance.🐾

I’m looking for a family who understands the importance of structure, routine, consistency, and patience – the kind of things that help all dogs thrive. I’m a star student when it comes to training, and I’d love someone who’s committed to keep that going in my new home🦴

I’d love to be the only pet in the home. If there are children, I’d prefer sensible older teenagers who can understand my body language and help me feel safe (pending a meet at the shelter first).

offering a foster-to-adopt arrangement basis, which means we get to start our journey together with the full support of my amazing shelter team who’ve been helping me grow. They’ll be right there with us, every step of the way!🤩

If you think you can offer me the fun-loving and supportive home I need to shine, please fill out a Perfect Match Form today: https://rspca-littlevalley.org.uk/perfect-match-form/

💙I can’t wait to meet you!💙

Sox is a sensitive soul who was found abandoned with another dog in an unsuitable environment by our inspector. Since then, he's been working hard on building his confidence during his time at Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA).

He's looking for an experienced owner who understands the importance of structure, routine and consistency, and can help him settle into his new home at his own pace.

With time and patience, Sox's true personality shines through, revealing just how special he really is. All he needs is one person to take a chance on him! 🥺

We’re at crisis point with dogs in our care. Taking a rescue pup into your heart and home means we can keep rescuing animals who urgently need us. If you can’t rehome, please share! 🔁

Please meet the gorgeous Queenie she is 2 years old. She is a sweet, gentle girl who is finding the Shelter pretty scary at the moment. She is spending most of her time hiding away in her igloo bed but does come out to spend time with familiar people and have a bit of fuss. Queenie will need a quiet new home with understanding owners who are happy to give her the time she needs to gain confidence and find her feet. As she is a young cat, she is likely to be quite active once she is settled and will enjoy playing and exploring the great outdoors. She would prefer to the the only pet in her new home but may consider sharing it with a quiet child of Secondary School age.

Murray is a lovable, cuddly ball of fur who is ready to become the most loyal companion you’ve ever had. This sweet lad may be a little needy at times, but that’s only because he craves attention and affection from his humans. He thrives on love and will follow you around, curl up on your lap, and shower you with purrs whenever he can. If you're looking for a cat who will form a deep bond with you, Murray is the one.

Although Murray has had a history of stress related medical issues, he has shown time and time again that he bounces back. He’s been given the proper care and now he's in stable health, ready to find his forever home. Murray would do best in a home where someone is around frequently, as he loves being the center of attention and will happily greet you with headbutts and meows. He’s an expert lap cat and will make sure you never feel alone or unloved.

If you're someone who has the patience and heart to care for this special boy, you'll be rewarded with a bond unlike any other. Murray is looking for a family that will love him through thick and thin, and in return, he’ll be your most devoted friend for life. He would be well suited to an adult only home though he could live with an older teenage child. Murray would also need to be the only pet in the home.

If you feel you could give this gorgeous boy a fresh start, then fill in a Perfect Match form on our website!

A grey domestic shorthair cat has recently been brought into the shelter after being found in the Stockleigh English area near Crediton. He appears to be an unneutered male, although he’s very nervous at the moment so we haven’t been able to confirm this just yet. We don't believe him to be microchipped.

If you believe this may be your cat, please contact the shelter on 01392 439898 or [email protected]
