A couple of weeks ago this little munchkin appeared we knew he was on his way at anytime and although an autumn foal isn’t ideal we needed to get the mare in foal as we had her back to breed but not been informed she had terrible laminitis, months of getting her sound ended and she ran with the stallion thinking he would catch her early spring not that first weekend 🫣 anyway a foal we have had he’s very sweet but there’s more the mare hasn’t been able to produce much milk and we had to ring around to find colostrum thanks to Langaller Stud you literally are life savers, it’s been touch and go but hopefully we are over the worst and he’s growing stronger every day and already nibbling hard food 🥰 he’s also very special as he belongs to Debs our best yard helper. Thanks must also go to our team over vets at Johnathon Woods especially Caoimhin and Mathew they have been as invested in him as we are ❤️‍🩹

Registered Dartmoor gelding 11yrs 11.2hh approx

Super LR or second pony has done all PC and local shows, lives in a fly rug during the summer months but requires no other attention.

Fleet has been working as part of our Riding School taking part in LR lessons, Birthday Parties, Own a Pony Days, and PC lessons with more advanced children. We feel he has more to give than what we need him for so he’s now looking for a new 🏠 where he can explore more of his potential.

Back down to earth with a bump yesterday Microchipping foals, batch No 1 done thanks to Emma who miraculously tames these wild beasts and vets Caoimhin and Chris from J Wood Vets, Paul had the most important job of holding everything so the little darlings didn’t investigate 🤣 thankfully the weather was kind to us 🐎

Breeder of the Year Awards we are so fortunate to have won this awards for the 7th time as Dartmoor Breeder they are an amazing acknowledgement to the work that goes on behind the scenes, well done to everyone who works hard to breed horses/ponies no matter the breed or type it’s a labour of love and a life choice not just a job 👏thank you to the Leeman Family for supporting the breeders 🥰

Yesterday at HOYS our ponies did us proud and had some amazing results N Rocket Man 2nd M&M LR, N Bobby James 3rd Open Ridden Dartmoor, N Blizzard 7th M&M FR, N St Paul 9th Open Dartmoors and Hisley Caliph who we consider to be one of ours after having him from a foal and being by N Prosper standing 4th Open Dartmoors and 7th M&M LR. Thank you to all the people behind the ponies especially Sam Robert’s for all you do with Bobby James

HOYS week let the excitement overflow 😀 to be Leading Dartmoor Breeder of the Year for the Seventh time is amazing in its own right but to have these wonderful ponies competing is the icing on the cake, good luck to everyone who has qualified especially all the Newoak Ponies we are extremely proud of you and all of your connections. Whatever happens remember you always taking the best pony home 👏 🐎

Newoak Wild Edric with his mares and foals

Newoak Special Edition aka Fairy enjoying her first baby of 2024, who needs adult supervision when you have a Dartmoor pony 😆🙃🤔

Lots going on atm even if the weather 🌦️ is bipolar and not in a cooperative manner, last year’s filly foals are just happy to be out in some Spring grass #gottolovethedevoncountyside

Golden oldies, all three of these older Dartmoor ladies work in our Riding School teaching the basics to tiny children and helping to educate special needs individuals with interactions and leadership knowledge. They have all experienced laminitis of varying degrees over the years and generally on a daily basis know more than us and have an opinion on everything! We adore these older mares and value their input in to our working week. It was such a pleasure to watch them this morning enjoying the early sunrise and time without their rugs their antics went on for at least 20 minutes snorting and farting the day into action 🤗

N Springsteen’s turn to join his mares, he is the kindest gentlest soul I think we have ever had and he passes his laidback easygoing way to his foals 🥰
