Goodbye for now 🫶🏻
I want to start by saying that 20 photos is simply not enough to share the endless amount of joy, love, lessons, challenges and very slobbery kisses that the last almost decade has given me.
What started out as a part time income alongside what was then my full time business, very quickly took over and became not only my livelihood but my entire life. After a few short years, I was caring for six daycare dogs during the week, at least two overnight boarders every night of the year, and additional walks most days… all the doggos!
I’ve just spent an hour looking through a frankly embarrassing amount of photos of all the dogs, deciding which to choose. Each one bringing back a memory, especially from the early days, the Dudley days as I affectionately remember them. Dudley was my very first daycare dog, just 12 weeks old, he could fit in my hands. There was no need for a doorbell when he arrived, from the moment he jumped out of the car until he reached my front door, I would hear the high pitched barks of excitement (sorry neighbours)! He was the beginning, and he will see this through to the end with me too.
So many of my regular dogs, past and present, have a place in my heart, but I’ve also been lucky enough to have gained some very special human friendships too. Those who have been there through the ups and downs of life; helped me move house, watched me get married, offered advice when I became a mummy. For all of the kind words, support, and custom that I’ve received over the years, I am forever grateful.
As a business, I’ve always been fortunate to be incredibly busy. I’ve never been able to accommodate the stream of daily enquiries and word of mouth recommendations that pour through. I wish I could have said yes to every dog. I’ve often felt guilty having to say no… sounds silly really! This has always been a very personal job, never just about money or business.
Well, it is with a very heavy heart that I have had to make the decision to close the doors of the Woof HQ from 1st October due to personal circumstances. I will miss all of my furry friends dearly 🤎
