I provide a personal Animal Pregnancy detection service via Ultra Sound scanning and Microchipping . Covering the Exeter and East Devon area.

Ultrasound Pregnancy detection scans from £38 (Mileage charges apply for mobile) for dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets. Ultrasound scanning in relaxed stress-free environment either in your home or at my clinic. I am Certified and trained by Vet Image Solutions for pregnancy detection, qualified

Defra approved microchip implanter (prices for microchipping on request). I am fully insured for both procedures, experienced KC Assured Breeder, Exhibitor and Judge. I use a safe non - invasive, veterinary grade CE certified high- resolution equipment for scanning and can email cine loops and images of positive scans direct to your email for you to keep. I use a water-based gel for scanning for clearer imaging, if heavily coated more gel will be applied to avoid clipping. The advantages of scanning for pregnancy are:
Rule out phantom pregnancies. Adjust diet, food intake for expectant mum. Prepare for forthcoming litter. Checking viability/ heartbeats. Scanning to see all puppies have been born (post whelp scan). I can scan as early as 28 days from last mating but prefer to scan between 30 to 35 days post mate. No ultrasound technician can guarantee the number of puppies from an ultrasound scan and can only confirm pregnancy on the day with an estimate of how many gestation sacs seen. Developing foetus still have a long way to go before full term and reabsorption of gestation sacs can still occur up to roughly 45 days. As a scanning technician I cannot diagnose any medical condition that may be affecting your bitch/queen nor can identify any foetal malformation in scans carried out later in pregnancy. A veterinarian is the only person that can diagnose such conditions. It is now the law for puppies to be microchipped by 8 weeks of age and the breeder must be the first registered owners, from June 2024 it is also a legal requirement for kittens (by 20 weeks) and adults cats to now be microchipped. I prefer to chip kittens from 11 weeks onward. I use the finest implanter needle for microchipping with 10 mm chip and use Animal Tracker & Pettrac data base which is approved by Defra. Petlog is also available on request.

If you receive an email from a company claiming to be Petchip.network - https://petchip.network/petchip-network advising that your pet’s microchip registration has expired and you need to pay for it to be updated then THIS IS A SCAM. PLEASE IGNORE.

The email comes with a link taking you to a page showing your pet’s name, microchip number, your contact phone number and looks very convincing, but please be advised you will never usually have to pay to update your pets details. Charges to register a microchip often only come when you first register your pet.

If you are unsure there is a list of approved databases on gov.uk: Get your dog or cat microchipped - GOV.UK

While we agree keeping microchip details up to date is a vital part of pet ownership, please only use a recognised service to do so.

About Me

Hello and welcome to my page, my name is Cindy Collinson and I am based in Exmouth, Devon. I am currently owned by 7 Miniature Pinschers, who I have been exhibiting at Championship Show level for the past ten years making up 3 home-bred Champions. I am also a KC Assured Breeder and judge my breed at CC level. I am very pleased to be able to offer my Ultrasound Pregnancy Scanning service for Dogs, Cats, Rabbits and other small pets. I have completed my level 1 training course by Vet Image Solutions to perform a non invasive and safe animal pregnancy scans, using a VIS Scanpad with micro convex probe and a water based gel.

I can scan your bitch/queen in the comfort of your own home (Exeter & East Devon), so no need for stressful trips to the vets for confirmation of pregnancy, ideally with bi***es from 30 days of last mating. For a heavily coated breed I may need to clip a small amount of hair in the middle of the abdomen. I will of course try my best without clipping and would always ask your consent before doing so. All positive scans will be forwarded to owner via a Cine Loop so can viewed at home.

I am also fully qualified by Peddymark to Microchip Dogs, Cats and other small animals and offer a discount for litters scanned by myself. I am am fully insured for both services I offer.
