MATTING ✂️

It must be Christmas time.. the two yearly grooms are coming out of the woodwork. This has literally been my week.

HOWEVER…

I will NEVER shame someone for bringing a dog to me and saying “I f**ked up, dog is way over due, do what you can..!”

What I HATE is:
“I don’t like them short, so just a trim please. Brush the matts out”

If you want “just a trim” and a decent length to your dogs coat we are talking you coming to me EVERY 4-6 weeks. Even then they will probably need a good cut every so often, just like we need a hair trim.
Basically, long coat means more maintenance, both at home (brushing) and with the groomer.
AND NO, even though we are constantly asked, we CANNOT and WILL NOT brush matts out - if you check the animal welfare act, it states dogs should be free from pain. Matts/knots are painful and trying to brush them out is excruciating.

You cannot expect your groomer to do in 2 hrs, what you failed to do in 2+months.
Life happens and things can get in the way, I get it, I’ve even been there - but your dog will be taken short and they will leave feeling AMAZING!! ⭐️
Surely that’s what is important right?

Luckily for me, my regulars are all bloody brilliant and they know that clip offs are for a reason AND they can still look cute ☺️ 🐾

PUPPY INTROS ⭐️

Are you introducing a new pup to your home this festive season.
Now is a great time to get your puppy intros booked.

Most dogs these days will have to see the groomer often. Whether it’s the Labrador coming for a de-shed every few months, the monthly cockerapoo groom or the two-monthly hand strip, each and every dog should see a groomer at some point.

It is also good for young pups to experience the salon, get used to being handled by other people and help banish the separation anxiety.

The salon can be a really fun place and dogs who come to us as pups often skip in for their grooms, loving every part of it, especially the undivided attention! 🌟

When your pup comes to us for a puppy intro they will get:
🐾 bath
🐾 dry
🐾 playtime
🐾 hygiene areas cleaned/clipped
🐾 nail trim
🐾 cuddles
It costs just £28 and we recommend at least three before their big groom!

Please don’t listen to your breeders who say to wait - pups need/can be groomed from the time they leave their new homes. It’s all part and parcel of exposure to the big wide world and it’s just as important as training!
