Dear Customers,

I’m now on my second day back at work, and unfortunately, I’ve already experienced two cancellations and a no-show. I recognize that this time of year can be challenging for everyone, but it truly costs nothing to send a text *at least* 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

These missed appointments have resulted in a loss of £172.50. Considering that each bottle of shampoo costs £25 and that we have various overheads—such as rent, electricity, telephone, water, and blade sharpening—these cancellations add up. Additionally, I pay £34.99 monthly for a booking system that sends reminders via both text and email.

I understand that life happens, I too sometimes have to move appointments, and I always strive to accommodate emergencies by rescheduling if necessary. However, at short notice, it is difficult to fill these appointment slots.

This issue isn’t limited to grooming. My hairdresser charges 50% if you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment. While this policy is in place for my services, I rarely enforce it; however, I may have to start doing so for repeat offenders.

I am committed to continual learning, attending new courses to enhance my skills and provide a better experience for your dog.

Please be respectful of both mine and Kate’s time. I look forward to a smoother 2025 ahead.

Just a reminder…

In the last week no shows and cancellations have totalled £360. £192 of that is just today!

If you cannot make your appointment then please let us know. Each appointment gets a text/email confirmation on booking and reminders running up to their appointments. This service costs us via our booking system.

Thursday evenings are our most popular times, we often have clients waiting for these appointments. I am very fair and if I fill the appointment I don’t charge you.

For a bit of perspective I still have to pay my members of staff who are employed. Self employed team members go without pay. The bills still have to be paid, our own bills also have to be paid. It is £136 for two children to go to nursery for the day. We aren’t a massive corporation that can take these hits.

I constantly reinvest offer new better and more exciting things for your dogs to enjoy their time in our care.

I’m seeing this problem across so many service based business, small business cannot simply roll with the punches anymore, if they aren’t supported they will not be here at the end of this year.

Please be respectful of our time, if you cannot make your appointment it takes a two minutes to let us know. We know life happens and if you can help us then we can help you.

2025 FAQs:

🐶 Can I book an appointment?
Yes, you can. Please contact Kate on +44 7818 508851 as my books are closed. You can also book online.

🐶 When are you open?
We are open only by appointment only. We all have different hours, however I work Wednesday, Thursday and half of Friday.

🐶 How long can I leave my dog?
Your dog will be allocated an appointment time, which is enough time to do the required groom. Please make sure you drop your dog off at the required time and collected at the specified time. Late pick ups will be charged.

🐶 Can I just drop in?
No. We book appointments weeks in advance. However if you are passing and only need a bath/nail trim, there’s no harm in asking.

🐶 My dog doesn’t need a bath, I just want a trim..
ALL dogs that come in the salon get a bath. I will not allow my equipment to touch a dirty dog.
So regardless, the price will be the same and a bath will be included.

🐶 Do you use crates?
Yes, we have crates. However these are only used when absolutely necessary. It is safer for a dog to be placed in a crate than to be roaming around the salon with other dogs.

🐶 Can my dog just have a trim?
That depends on the condition of your dogs coat. If the dog has a good coat, that’s regularly brushed, then yes. If your dog has any knots or matting, no.

🐶 Can i stay with my dog?
Definitely not. Dogs don’t relax. I don’t relax. It’s messy and pointless. Drop your dog off and have 2hrs free 👌🏼

MABEL!!!!

The naughtiest little hound EVER.

Mabel is a Bedlington terrier and she lives with Hannah and her family and loves getting muddy on the farm. When she’s in the salon she’s groomed to an inch of her life and very floofy, but when she’s at home she’s just pure mud and a typical terrier.
This makes life harder since her coat is extremely hard to groom if left, so she needs regular baths and grooming to stop those nasty knots!

Mabel is very opinionated and is definitely the boss of the salon, Hannah and Kate don’t stand a chance.

Mabel loves to say hello to everyone who comes in the shop, she will ignore your dog but gives out cuddles for free! 🥰
