Things are a little different for Winston at the moment, so it took him a while to get into his groom but after 30 mins he went and got his ball and got back on the table. Why is this important? Because the ball is his favourite thing and by getting it and getting on the table he's telling me he's relaxed and happy for the groom to carry on. This lovely little lady had her 2nd puppy session today and I can't believe how much we achieved. The plan was just clipper practice but because she had wet feet we started with some dryer practice and then clipper practice. We went over a few things we did on the last session and she showed me what she learnt at training the other day by popping her feet on a small stool for chest, legs and face. How to make a scratch board for dogs nails 🐾 Swift hates her nails being trimmed. We finally have a bit of a routine to reduce the stress for all of us but it's not something that any of us enjoy. I'm so excited about Teddy's groom. We've been working on desensitisation with the dryer and this was the first time he let me clip his legs. I feel like we're finally getting there. I'm super proud because he allowed me to do these things and there were minimal stress signals.
