🐾 Happy Paws News 🐾

It’s been a few months since our last update and we have welcomed many new Dogs and their owners since! 🥹

I am extremely grateful to all of you for choosing Happy Paws to care for and Train your dogs 🙂

It is still a work in progress but We’re super happy with it - Take a look and let us know what you think 🙂

Also most of you are aware of us launching Hufflepig House Luxury Home Boarding and Training for Dachshunds.

After months of waiting on the council Our licence inspection is booked in for 11th September .. Once we have that we are good to go 😍

As a result of launching the home boarding, Our Live in Pet Sitting service will cease from 1st October 2023 .

We will honour any current bookings but will not be taking anymore moving forwards. I am sad to announce this but unfortunately I cannot be in several places at once and It has been an impossible task finding suitable people to fill my role.

Some changes will also be happening to our dog walking and pop in services !

As of monday Sept 18th we will be closed on Mondays and Fridays .

Dog walks and Puppy Pop ins will only be bookable on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please check ahead and book in with us if you want to guarantee a space for your dog.

And Lastly both Happy Paws and Hufflepig House will be closed 23rd October to the 29th October - I am going on a week long Dog Training Mentorship programme in Essex with Raven K9 to further my dog training knowledge and improve my practical skills .. so that I may help as many dogs and their owners as possible moving forward 🫶🏼

Today is Onyx’s First Birthday! 🥳

A little over a month ago we took on Onyx as a project dog to Train and Rehome as hes owners really couldn’t cope with his behaviour and were not equipped to give him the life he deserved!

After substantial training and a complete overhaul of his daily routine, alongside the love and care offered to Onyx by his foster carers Alicia & Luke .. A completely different dog sits before us now !

As you can see Onyx is now happy and thriving 🤩

This is an extra special 1st Birthday as during this process Luke and Alicia have completely fallen in love with him and have decided to offer him a permanent home ! 🎉

Were completely over the Moon for them and him … Welcome to the family Buddy and the Happiest of Birthdays 🤩🥳🎉🎂🎁

🐾 Happy Paws Neutrality Walk 🐾

⭐️ This morning we held our first ever Neutrality Walk in Fakenham and despite the 🌬️ it was a huge Success! ⭐️

Ive wanted to offer something like this to my clients for a while now as I feel it’s so important to practice being neutral around others and set ups like this can really help.

We often hide our overly excited/fearful/nervous dogs away and avoid other people and dogs everytime we venture outside.. Either that or we give in to our dogs urges to meet with and play with every dog they see, causing frustration when we dont allow it.

Avoidance doesn’t cure fear/uncertainty based reactivity it merely manages it on the same token allowing your overly aroused/excited dog to interact with every dog it see’s reinforces the barking and excitement your dog shows everytime they see a dog etc - Practicing Neutrality and not allowing our dogs to greet other dogs - especially strange dogs on lead will reduce reactivity over time.

We had a couple of very excited dogs today ( one of them being mine - Elvis 😂 ) But everyone did amazing with their dogs today and im very Proud of everyone that stepped out of their comfort zone and came to the walk 🥰
