💔Sadly we have had a young female cat handed into our practice on the 17th of June.
She is black with highlights of tan.
Unfortunately she was not microchipped.💔

This happened on new carron road Falkirk.
Next to the church, at the roundabout.

Will you be travelling with your dog this summer?

Please make sure you follow the safety advice when travelling with an animal.

Dogs must be safely restrained within a vehicle when travelling to prevent:

➡️ Distracting the driver
➡️ Injuring themselves
➡️ Injuring passengers

Safe ways to do this include:

We have introduced osteoarthritis check lists for owners to fill in. These checklists are designed to help owners and their vets understand if our pets are suffering from any signs of arthritis.

If you think this might be relevant to your pet please ask a member of staff for a form when you come in for your appointment 🖊️

🩷Everyone here at Grahams road would like to wish Maeve all the best as she has now went on maternity leave 🩷

🍼We are all so excited for her, her husband and son as they will soon be welcoming two new bundles of joy to their family 🍼

Maeve will be missed by all the staff and clients, but we look forward to seeing her soon! 🥰

Our practice pet Arlo has taken a break from his role as a teaching dog to model our medical pet shirts.

Here at Grahams Road we offer medical pet shirts as an alternative to traditional plastic cones (also known as cone of shame/lampshades!) for our post operative patient to deter them from licking their wounds.

We get great feedback from our clients who have used them so the purpose of this post is to let more people know they exist!

We always keep stocked up so they are available to your pets whether it's a planned surgery or not!

And it's not just for dogs, we have cat shirts too 😻🐶

What do you think? We'd love to hear from you... And if you have any doggy or cat models we would love to see the pet shirts in use.

🌟 Appreciation post🌟

Let us introduce our lovely veterinary care assistant (VCA) Christina.

If you have been following our posts you will know May was veterinary nurse awareness month and our lovely Christina has been posting each member of the nursing team throughout the month of May.

As she is ever so modest she hasn't included herself, so let us...

Christina joined Grahams Road in 2021 after studying animal care to HNC level she is an intregal part of our vet nurse team and here is why:

👉 She keeps the place stocked up, organised and tidy. 🫧🧹
👉 She is usually one step ahead of us all and has everything set up or cleaned up before we get the chance 😂
👉 She provides lots of TLC to our inpatients and sees to all their needs. 🥰
👉 She is a multi-tasker and assists the vets, nurses and reception staff too.
👉 She keeps us all smiling ☺️

All the work she does is often hidden behind the scenes, but you will see her from time to time at reception as she loves greeting all the pets that come through the doors.

💚 Meet our Student Vet Nurse, Niamh 💚

Hi, I’m Niamh and I am a 3rd and final year Student Veterinary Nurse. I started at Grahams Road Vets as an Animal Care Assistant in 2021 and they have given me the opportunity to achieve my dreams of becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the aim of qualifying in Spring 2025. 🩺

My favourite parts of my job are preparing your pets for any and all operations and procedures, monitoring anaesthesia and in-patient care. 🐶🐱

Outside of work you will find me cuddled up with my Golden Retriever, Leo and Labradors, Sam and Mabel or in our coop of 6 chickens! 🐓 Mabel frequently visits GRVC for lots of TLC, so you might be lucky to find her in reception some days! 😁

🐾Meet our lovely veterinary nurse Kathryn!

This is what she had to say…🐾

🩺Hi I'm Kathryn, I am resident cat lady here at grahams road! I qualified from Edinburgh Napier University in 2018 and since then have worked in small animal practices gaining a variety of experience in general practice, on-call/out of hours and locum work before settling at Grahams Road in early 2022. In 2020 I put my time in lock down to good use and completed my ISFM certificate in Feline nursing alongside working.🩺

🐈‍⬛I have two cats, a toddler (who at times also thinks he is a cat!) and I am recently married. I enjoy socialising with friends and family, cycling and baking to name a few things🐈‍⬛

Yesterday we enjoyed a visit from two of the Muiravonside Country Park ferrets, for a routine surgery.

This duo certainly kept staff amused with their cheeky personalities 😂🥰

Belle 🤩💖

The beautiful Belle came in yesterday morning, for her healthy pet check and she kindly obliged when we asked her to do a bit of modelling 😆

Remember if you are a pet health club member your animal is entitled to a health check every 6 months and we would love to see them! These appointments are great if you have no health concerns but would like your animal checked over.

Our registered nurses carry out these appointments and answer any questions you may have.
