Scottish Championships 2024 was foggy and damp but the results from Dewar Dressage were dazzling! 🌟

Friday started with Honor Casely and her smart boy Lafforcry getting 2nd in Elementary Bronze and Chloe Balfour and her precious girl Westernewlands Jersey just missing out on a podium position (again🙈 - but keep reading 🥹) to take 4th! We then moved on to the Elementary Silver where Lilly Godfrey and her handsome boy Fourstar Struck added to their titles by winning 🥇 🥳. Rebecca Robb and Brodnants Diamond Bracelet took 3rd place and massive congratulations to them for getting a wildcard for Petplan championships in October - it was definitely a happy Friday! Imogen Casely and her awesome girl Parvadean Estelle kicked off the music classes for us winning the Elementary Bronze section and Helen Robertson and Dowland Hannah made their podium debut taking 2nd place in a very close FSM prelim bronze class.

Saturday brought more fog which caused Lynne Wearing and her golden boy Asgard Go For Gold problems added with a banging door to cost them precious marks but still managed a podium place and took 3rd in the prelim silver. Jo Anne Murray and her girl Almwind were queen of the bridesmaid position taking 🥈 in the Medium Bronze, FSM Medium Bronze and FSM Advanced Medium Bronze. Again massive congratulations to them for there double wildcard qualification for petplan champs in October. My own golden girl Kianca done a lovely medium test with a rewarding score from a list 1 but split judging just cost her and we finished 2nd! Medium has always been my nemesis level 🤪 She then coped reasonably well with a pigeon invasion on her FSM Medium to take the win and another title to add to her name 🥳

It is amazing to be part of so many people’s journeys but this weekend special mention to 2 in particular. Chloe I love the bones of you and your girl and you made me cry! Yesterday I was reminiscing about when I first met you just after you got Jersey still at school and full of so much hopes and dreams! I have loved every second and been a delight to see you keep raising the bar - first win unaffiliated, registering with BD, first win BD, first plus 70%, first championship, first top 10 at championship and now the long awaited podium position! Imogen 😭 the most switched on teenager I’ve ever met (sometimes not sure who keeps who right with us)! Yesterday saw her and Stella ride their last centre line together and to do it and win was the dream 👏 it’s has been a sheer honor to be part of this journey and see you achieve so much - Stella really is a legend! I look forward to supporting you with your new partnership! Exciting times ahead!
Now on to Nationals prep and then Petplan Championships in October - year far from over!

Scottish Summer Petplan Area Festival 2024 at Rockrose did not disappoint! What a weekend and what fabulous results we had! So many really special results this weekend for team Dewar Dressage! Grab a cuppa and read 🥹

Starting off firstly with the absolute ⭐️ that is Honor Casley and her lovely boy Laffocry! They won an impressive 3 titles in Novice Bronze FSM, Novice Bronze and Elementary Bronze. This gives them 3 tickets to the championships in October! They also managed to get the highest score of the show with a whopping 73.8%! Honor really is very new to this affiliated dressage being an eventer at heart but she is starting to realise that working hard on your flatwork really does benefit your jumping! The future looks bright for this pair!

Next is Lynne Wearing with her super smart Palomino boy Azgard Go For Gold. They won a big novice silver class gaining them a ticket to the championships too. This really is very special as Lynne deserves this more than anyone I know and I really am now hoping this is the end of over 10 years of heartbreaking horse drama for her! I was so gutted to miss this very emotional prize giving as riding at the time but sure many more to come! Lynne is very behind the scene in Dewar Dressage providing me with endless therapy and after what some of you put me through this is priceless 🤪🤣. Can’t put into words how pleased I am for her!

Then we go on to Kim Morrison and her boy Obsidian of Kinnaird who again have another heart warming story. Kim has never given up on him, rehabbing him through several major ailments that many would have defo called time on! They have had a very bumpy prep for this in fact virtually no prep but she got there on Saturday and managed 8th in the medium bronze class with a very respectable score! Then in true Sid style he managed to create drama on the way home resulting in the loss of a shoe 🙈 all was not lost though and she managed to return on Sunday to finish 3rd in the elementary bronze class and get on the podium 🥳! 🤞 for a wildcard here 🙏

Now I must tell you about Chloe Balfour and her girl Westernewlands Jersey. Chloe came to me on a clinic many years ago after just getting Jersey who at that time is unrecognisable to the sporty cob she is now! Chloe has worked so hard to get her 2 x top 10 placings finishing 5th in Novice bronze and 8th in Elementary bronze (2 of the biggest classes). So much more to come for them as they have really just stepped up to elementary 👏

Last story is Aileen Anderson and Kalyana Indie finishing 6th in a massive prelim bronze class. Aileen has worked so hard and transformed Indie over the last few years. This only their 5th show in total together so just shows you what you can achieve!

Delighted with my gorgeous girl Kianca who stepped up to her first championship at advanced medium getting 2 fab scores and securing us 2 tickets to championships too! 🥳

Massive congratulations also to Louise Doherty, Lily Godfrey and Jo Anne Murray who also managed podium finishes and qualified for championships.

Other top 10 placings went to Rachel Thomson, Dawn Harrison, Carol Wright, Jen Cassidy, Joanne McPherson, Rebecca Robb and Helen Robertson.

I am so proud of everyone mentioned above but also my riders who didn’t quite make the placings this time as it is an achievement to qualify and not easy to put yourself on such a big stage. Now onto Regionals for some and future goal settings! 💪💪💪

🍾Congratulations🍾 to our Scottish judges who upgraded at the recent Spring judge exams.

Such a large amount of work and dedication goes into passing these exams and we are all very thankful to have a fantastic range of judges within Scotland to ride under.

What a lovely surprise!

Massive thank you to a group of my lovely clients who got together and took me out for a lovely meal and a cocktail or 2 last night as a thank you!

They really didn’t have to do that and I was totally touched and a tad emotional.

I love doing what I do and this just made it even better - thank you guys so much very much appreciated ☺️🥰🥂

Feeling very privileged to have been able to ride at this demo and have lessons with Micheal. Learned so much and very proud of Kia she is just the best!

Well done and thank you to all my fellow committee members from SESDG for all their work not just in running this event but to all the events that we have ran that allowed us to put something amazing like this on!
