Absolutely amazing work from Willow and her owners. Over the last couple of months we’ve been working together to up Willow’s obedience in distracting environments. She is a fantastic high energy lab who is always looking for a job. Obedience has been a great way to fulfil her and look how much she loves it!!!
Our static stay was our monthly challenge within our socialisation class last month, and fair to say Willow has excelled 🐾
If you’re looking to get this kind of obedience from your dog, please feel free to send me a message 💌

Nakoa’s owners have been working really hard over the last 6 weeks to tackle his reactivity. Nakoa is a beautiful and friendly boy who sees every dog as a playmate. When he’s on the lead, this can cause frustration which leads to reactivity! As a large dog, sometimes when he reacts, he can come across as scary, which has put a strain on his owners. Like most owners with reactive dogs, they were trying to walk him time where they wouldn’t see anyone, but living in a village made this virtually impossible.
Nakoa was particularly reactive with intact males, which we have been working on. Jac has been a great stooge for us and has meant that we can work on Nakoa’s neutrality with Jac around. You can see in the clip that Nakoa is now ‘looking’ as opposed to fixating, which is what we are looking for.
However, fast forward 6 weeks and Nakoa is neutral with 90% of dogs. A huge shout out to his owners for committing to the training plan even when times are tough/weather is bad. It’s amazing to see dogs transform and owners grow in confidence! Keep up the amazing work 🎉🐾
🐾 Why Obedience Training is FUN & ESSENTIAL for Your Dog 🐾
Does your pup listen when it really matters?
🐕🦺 Obedience training is more than just teaching "sit" and "stay"—it’s about creating a bond, building trust, and making everyday life easier and more enjoyable for both of you. 💚
Here’s why obedience training is a MUST:
✨ Safety First: A well-trained dog is less likely to get into dangerous situations. Commands like “come” or “leave it” can be lifesaving!
✨ Mental Stimulation: Dogs LOVE to learn! Training exercises challenge their brains, keeping them happy and fulfilled.
✨ Stronger Bond: Training builds trust and understanding between you and your dog, making your relationship even stronger.
✨ More Freedom: A trained dog can enjoy more freedom—like off-lead walks or trips to public places—because they know how to behave.
✨ It’s FUN! Dogs thrive on positive attention, and training sessions are a great way to play, learn, and laugh together. 🐾
At Concept K9, we make training enjoyable for both you and your furry friend. From puppy basics to advanced obedience, we tailor each session to your dog’s needs. 🐶 Ready to transform your pup?

Look at Mabel’s engagement! Mabel and her owner have been working hard on neutrality, engagement and reactivity. Mabel used to run up to dogs, bark at them and sometimes took things a bit too far. However, she can now co-exist around other dogs and we have built this all through engagement. She doesn’t require any distractions from her owner, like throwing treats on the floor or making her carry a ball. Instead, Mabel choses to work with her owner rather than running off. It’s all about building value 💰
Keep up the great work, team 🐾💕
Crate and Place Training
As the holiday season approaches, now is a great time to reinforce your dog’s crate training and the ‘Place’ command. The holidays can be overwhelming for dogs with new sights, sounds, and distractions. Teaching these skills helps your dog stay calm and relaxed in busy environments.
A properly conditioned crate provides a safe, quiet retreat for your dog to rest, especially for adolescent dogs who may struggle to settle. It helps prevent unwanted behaviors like chewing and stealing, and ensures safety when you're not around to supervise.
The ‘Place’ command is also valuable, helping your dog stay calm and controlled, particularly for working breeds who may have high energy. It gives them a space to relax and reduces impulsive behaviors like barking or chewing. Plus, it’s useful in various settings, from friends’ houses to restaurants.
If you need help with crate or ‘Place’ training and want to achieve the below, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you and your dog enjoy an stress-free holiday season!
Does your dog do their commands around distractions, or do you find they ‘switch their ears off’? We want to make sure that all our behaviours are ‘proofed’ so that our dog is set up to succeed in any environment. Jacko is mastering ‘loose lead walking’ whilst Jac is remaining in a ‘down stay’.
Let’s make our dogs masters of obedience. You can see just how much the dogs love to work 🐾❤️
Luna having an amazing training walk with Hannah! Look at that engagement 😍
If you’re looking for solo walks for your dog with an emphasis on training including street walking, reactivity etc, then give us a shout!
Some more free-running with Jac. Always doing silly warm ups before starting our obedience sessions.
First time training in Hartlands and it’s an ideal place with distractions etc. But also, if you’re looking for a FREE way to have fun and bond with your dog, just get them jumping on some of the equipment there 🐾

So proud of how far Ezra and his owners have come! Ezra’s owners are very consistent and getting the results because of that! When we first met a couple weeks ago, Ezra would pull so hard on the lead and drag his owner around. Now, from growing that engagement and putting the value into the exercise, they can now both enjoy their walks! They’ve even had comments from people around saying how much he’s changed 😍
Can’t wait to keep seeing him progress even more 💕🐾
