So I've tried to post photos in chronological order but today was just too good to not post straight away!!
We built a path.
A beautiful curved path with 40 tonnes of hard-core. Never in my puff do I want to walk to a field through mud.
Scott Rose was a trooper - worked all day....until he managed to get his hands on the four wheeled drive dumper. Got it stuck after 20 seconds. I kid you not πŸ˜– I had an complete epper that he shouldn't be allowed to drive ANYTHING. But many hands made light work, we rocked out the wheelbarrows and our first path is finished. Ta da!!! 😍

So the end of September came, the skies got greyer, and boy did it rain. Wettest September in Oxfordshire since 1836, apparently. But it was quite a test for our ground and new ditch. We learnt some bits got puddles which drained after a few days, but plenty stayed firm. The new ditch worked really well, but over flowed when the main ditch at the end was full. Given the amount of rain, this seemed understandable and it all drained after a few days. Work to be done over the next year to add more drainage channels but overall really pleased with how everything held up.

Well the beginning of September arrived and we had a new ditch dug in. Victor jumped it (a lot), the grass was a bit browner and the sky bluer. Feels like a long time ago!

So it's been a while since I posted because there's been a lot going on behind the scenes! We have finally bought a place of our own so I think it's about time I started posting pictures of our progress to keep track of how things change. It's a blank canvass right now, so lots to do!
Here's the first pics from the summer....
