The pups and I had so much fun today at GRC fest.
Big thanks to Carley and Marc at GRC dogsports UK for putting it on.
I hope everyone's Bank Holiday was a sweet as Bruce's when he came to stay with me.
Most people say they would love my job playing with dogs all day and it's awesome, don't get me wrong, but I do like to point out when you want it done right, it's hard work and I put a lot of effort in.
Then there are some parts to my job that....alright.....I'll give you this one...It's not so much like hard work. π€£π₯°
Horses...no problem.
So Bruce (bulldog) used to be a fu*β‘ing nightmare when I first took him on. He would lunge and bark at horses and cyclists, and he is a powerful dog so I assure you this wasn't fun!
Now look at him though. β€οΈ
Took the foster dogs for some families to see and while we waited we had a play on the GRC club equipment again.
Spring pole and wall climb.
If you want a dog to learn from other dogs you have to keep in mind the kind of dogs you mix it with.
Let them learn from dogs with poor social skills and no training and unsurprisingly it will pick up bad habits and have negative experiences.
Brought my two to work today to meet Disco.
When your training pays off in a real world scenario. I came across a woman looking for her dog on our walk this morning. A little later on I find it. It's a little shy so I put my two in sit (crackle decided to easy but that's fine I'll take it).
This gave me time to get hold of the dog and call the owner and they are now reunited.
Some evening training.
Vid 1. Positions with Kendall (middle)
Vid 2. Trying to get Kendall to work around the tug ans not just play.
Vid 3. Crackle working around the toy, me asking for a behaviour, her catching herself before doing the wrong thing and correcting it.
Took a couple of days off to climb a mountain, but back at it again today.
