Warm day walkies 🐾

🐾 Keeping Your Dog Cool on Walks 🐾

It looks like the British summer has come in it’s usual style to drop kick us from 15 degree, grey days straight to 30 degrees of straight up sunshine!

We want you to be able to keep your dogs safe when you are walking so please remember…

1. **Walk Early or Late**: Avoid the midday heat. Opt for early morning or late evening walks when temperatures are lower. If anyone with a pre-booked appointment wants to move to a cooler time of the day, have a look at the earlier or later appointments available remember bookings can be amended as per T&Cs.

2. **Stay Shady**: Stick to shaded paths to minimize sun exposure. We have sections of the field that receive some shade for most of the day, try and stick to them when it’s warm.

3. **Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate**: Offer your dog water frequently to keep them hydrated. We have fresh water at the field but if you want to take a bowl and bottle of water around the field with you it’s a good idea.

If your dog enjoys a dunk we have added a water trough that they can immerse themselves in to stay cool.

4. **Cool Gear**: Consider a cooling vest or bandana. They can help regulate your dog's body temperature. Get a cooling mat they can enjoy in the car for the journey home too.

5. **Calm Walks**: On extremely hot days, keep walks calm and sniffy. Save chasing balls and running around for cooler days.

6. **Know the Signs**: Be aware of heatstroke symptoms—excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or confusion. If you notice these, get your dog to a cool place and seek veterinary care immediately.

7. **Don’t forget your own safety!**: Make sure you stay hydrated, wear a hat and sunscreen too!

Stay cool and enjoy those walks! 🐾

Send us a picture of your dog enjoying the water trough! 💦

I’m going to start this off by saying I’m super impressed that with the field booked from dusk ‘til dawn yesterday not one single stray dog p**p was found by me this morning! Thank you everyone for cleaning up after your dogs.

Can I remind users though that all ‘human’ litter needs to be taken away from the field and not put in the dog poo bins please, don’t make me root through dog poo bins on a Monday morning, nobody needs to be doing that 🤣🤣. Also that we are a no smoking/vaping site (all in the T&Cs bebeh!)

Thanks all!

For those of you looking for other things to do with your pooches this weekend why not pay a visit to our PYO cherry orchard in Upper Harbledown 🍒

Dogs on leads are welcome and there is a footpath and the north downs way running directly from the farm if you want to do a bit more exploring with your pooches too 🐾

🌅 EARLY MORNING SESSIONS 🌅

Can you let us know with a social media show of hands if you would like to be able to book early morning appointments? (5am start).

We have had a few requests and would like to see how popular it is likely to be now that that weather is warming up.

💻 Please check your emails ✅

When you book a session with us you will receive instant confirmation and payment emails PLUS all of the information you need to use the field is in the confirmation.

If you haven’t received it, check your junk mail as it may have worked its way into the wrong folder (this seems to happen with only a small amount of bookings). When you find it please mark it as ‘safe’ and all future emails will come to your inbox 📥

Please also make sure you read over the T&Cs of the field, we know it’s potentially not the most thrilling read 🙈 but there is some really important information in there to make sure everybody stays safe (also by confirming your booking you have agreed to the T&Cs so it’s really worth knowing what they say 😬).

The quickest way to contact us is a phone call - 07984 800062 (the number is also up at the field) so if you need a quick response give us a call.

Messages and emails will be picked up daily in the vast majority of cases but we cannot guarantee a quick response to those forms of contact.

Thanks everyone 😌

Lots of charging about and the resulting drool monobrow from all the madness 😅.

Please always let us know if you find 💩 in the field, we want to make sure it stays clean space for everyone to enjoy 🐾

Let’s talk about p**p…!

We genuinely hope that p**p left behind in our field never becomes an issue. One of the big benefits of it being an open and flat area is that it’s almost impossible to not see your pooch performing. We also know that everyone wants to be a responsible dog owner, even if it does mean the unenviable task of picking up after your dog.

BUT to help you out, we have installed not one but TWO poo bins (I know, we’re too good to you) along with poo bag dispensers, one at each end of the field. So you are never further than a couple of hundred yards from a bin even if you are caught without a bag on you.

We also strongly suggest that if you have multiple dogs, you let one off at a time if you know they are likely to need to go (when I walk ours in the morning, they are all guaranteed to p**p and I can’t see in three directions at once so I keep two under close control for a couple of minutes until the first one has gone and then let the next one go off and repeat).

Now we do of course check the field every morning before any clients go in and we expect to find the occasional “OH MY GOD I KNOW THEY DID A 💩 BUT I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE!!” moment. But believe me, it’s much easier for an owner to see their dog doing their business and pick it up straight away than hoping and praying we happen upon it within 2.5 acres the next day 🤪

If you are using the field and notice any mess that has been left behind please do let us know as soon as possible (and a rough location even better please 😅). We are geeks and will quite happily design a spread sheet to whittle out repeat offenders 🤣

But most of all, please just remember it is a space to be enjoyed by everyone and a part of that is being a considerate owner and clearing up after your dogs. We very much appreciate those who uphold that sentiment 🤩 🐾

🐾OUR BOOKING SYSTEM IS CHANGING🐾

Do not fear, it is now more straightforward but with more options 😅

You can now book 60, 90 or 120 minute appointments

Before we offered £10 ‘off-peak’ appointments at certain times, they are now available at all times 🙌🏼 with our buy 5 and get the 6th hour free offer.

You don’t have to book all of these at the same time, select the ‘buy 5 get the 6th free’ package and you will receive your own unique code. When you book your future appointments, enter the code and it will automatically discount the 6th session.

Because of this, start times for appointments will be more flexible so there will be more bookable options shown on the website for you to choose from.

💻 As with all tech, please bear with us if there are any teething problems, we will sort them asap.

So picnic benches are pretty good but a new piece of equipment is what we really want isn’t it?!

Say hello to our new tunnel - Luna couldn’t wait until we had finished to have a go. No soggy puddles in winter and best of all super tall! We can’t leave our big doggy pals out can we?!

I have it on good authority that it can fit a fully grown adult through it (make sure you tag us in your pictures 🤣).

Book in to let your pooches have a go too 🐾

Fancy taking a picnic or a brew with you on your next visit to East Kent Dog Field…?

Well now you have not one, but TWO picnic benches to choose from, one at each end of the field. We’ve also made the roadside edge of the field a little more private as we felt it possibly wasn’t being utilised as much as the other end of the field. It’s much more cosy now!

Don’t forget, you can book consecutive slots if you want to have an uninterrupted long lunch 🥪 ☕️ (or breakfast or dinner, we don’t mind!)

We have a BIG decision to make!!

As those of you who have followed the page from the beginning know, we always planned to open more than one field (and that is still hopefully the plan).

As these things like to go though, life gets in the way and things can get a bit complicated which means we haven’t yet made a start on our next project. This includes the feedback we have received about what people like from the current field in Faversham which has made us rethink the suitability of the area we had earmarked for the next field

SO…! We would love some more feedback from you (ie the people that actually matter in this because at the end of the day, it needs to be a field that you guys actually want to book! 😅🙈).

Essentially we have two VERY different areas in mind. Both of them are located in Upper Harbledown so only ten minutes from the Faversham field with really easy access from the A2.

One is open plan and more similar to the field at Faversham.

The other is COMPLETELY different. In a nutshell….trees, hills and water. More of an adventure playground.

Our concern is that many of you may not actually want it to be this complex if you are dealing with dogs who aren’t a fan of recall 😬

SO OVER TO YOU GUYS!!!

What would you prefer?! Let us know in the comments 🐾

(Picture of the potential adventure area to give an idea of where we have in mind)

Hi everyone! UPDATE!

We just wanted to give everyone a little update as we’ve had lots of messages asking how people go about booking the field.

We are not quite ready to take bookings yet but we are working hard to get everything finished. We will then release a small number of slots for you guys to book so we can make sure our website, booking system and most importantly THE FIELD(!) is all working as it should. We can address any issues arising from that and open fully once we have done so.

We really hope it won’t be much longer but we want to get it right 🤩

Meanwhile, enjoy a picture of Larry soaking up the sunshine during a break on Saturday 🐾
