Even if your good-doer made it out of winter slimmer than they went in, early vigilance is essential to ensure they don’t put it all back on again, over the spring and summer. ☀️

Grass is a significant source of calories, especially at this time of year, so controlling intake can make a big difference. ✅ Just reducing your horse’s time at grass may encourage them to just eat more as soon as they’re turned out so it’s worth considering other ways to control grass intake:

⚠️ Strip grazing – This is relatively easy to do with movable electric fencing and is definitely preferable to free range access to larger areas of lush grazing.

⚠️ Track systems – These can be on grass or all-weather surfaces (with alternative forage provided) and can help encourage more movement and exercise.

⚠️ Grazing muzzles – These can reduce grass intake by up to 80% and allow a horse to roam with companions who don’t need to wear a muzzle.

Rest assured, the formulas are unchanged and provide the same excellent nutrition, therefore the feed can be fed as long as all pellets are thoroughly soaked.
We suggest making your evening feed in the morning and vice versa.
