The prep for 2024 is well underway, looking forward to seeing everyone again , the shop was a big help last year to keep us all dry ! The retail webpage is upto date with sexed Chick and hatching egg availability. We are currently getting sexed chicks out to other retailers around Wales via our wholesale arm.

I hope 2024 is an enjoyable year for all our customers, we will show more of what the smallholding does and how it does it in 2024 through here and the farm page , so we hope we will keep you supplied with hens and laughs.

Cteam crested legbars, last 6 of 2023 , lay China blue eggs. Mix of ages from 10 weeks old - the one in the pic (£19) to 13 weeks (£24) or all 6 for £100 if collected this week.

16 week olds £16 collected from their pens and ready in the shop to be boxed. Flying out atm , after next Saturday we may switch to appointments as getting low on birds as our season ends in October ready for deep clean and 10 week bird break before chicks in December.

One of the 9 week olds came over from the barn to the shop with me. People are often surprised when I explain that only 9 weeks ago she was in an egg and in another 9 weeks she'll be thinking about laying one ! She'll probably be off to a new home this Saturday £9 for all the different breeds at 9 weeks old on the availability page of website.

Poultry will soon be firing back up in March, a later start to the season due to the housing order, sexed chicks are on site and growing nicely.

In the meantime, it's the final phase of our post Christmas pig season with saddlebacks going for rarebreed sausage and half pig boxes (joints, chops, sausage) approx 50kg in these boxes due to extra sausage including apple, leek and plain varieties) £120 , I'd advise you to make room in the fridge and freezer ! Collection / drop off / meets will probably be this Thursday. Message to arrange payment and times. About 5 boxes available atm. Next ones won't be until December.

Last 3 Orders available for half pigs ( a big white box of joints, chops, belly etc) typically around 45kg of rare breed (saddlebacks) pork - very different from supermarket bland commetcial pigs.
£120 per half pig available for local delivery or collection Wednesday 21st December 2pm til 8pm

Last about 100 hens and 20 ducks of the season so go get in touch for ducks and hens before end of October. Now begins weaner sales... £45 each or 3 for £120. If you aren't able to rear your own rare breed pork , contact us to order half pig joints and chops for Christmas delivery.

18 weeks old, thinking about laying pullet eggs, so they need your nest box not mine lol. Only about 100 of this age group left then youngsters coming through. Birds are £15, layers pellets large 20kg sacs if needed £10.50

That time of year when lots going on ....

3 age groups of heavy layers , 16+ weeks old £15 , 10 week olds £9, 2 week old sexed chicks £5. Sexed Indian runner and khaki campbell ducklings 7 weeks old £14, 15 week old cayuga £24. Some rhodie and cream crested legbar chicks too , lots going on !

Indian runners and khaki campbells , both great heavy laying freindly ducks. Sexed , ages available are 8 weeks old, 4 weeks old and day olds.

One of 6 breeds at 10 weeks old available Saturday. Currently staying in tbe barn , apart from photoshoot, but purposefully timed to be out as soon a restrictions lift , its no biggy to put them straight onto layers pellets from current growers pellets at this age. Pop-up Saturday 10 - 4 for collections £9.

Latest wave of ducklings , these are commercial rate laying khaki campbells. Beautiful shades and markings on the parents. Hatching eggs and sexed ducklings off heat are available. Probably the only duck eggs you can rely on being produced through winter alongside our hen strains.

I hadn't seen these buggers in a week , moving pigs to their new pen two very protective mothers emerged from bushes chasing after 3 hyper chicks.

Some of next seasons parent stock having a day on the Welsh Harlequins breeding pond. Once they are divided into unrelated breeding groups they are given there own pond, we have 5 duck breeding habitats/ponds. We don't do the rabbit hutch with a bucket of water thing we see with other breeders, if you're making money out of animals, they should have the VIP treatment.

Wide range of strong laying hybrids and pures available this weekend ; hybrids from £11, pure breeds £14 to £18 open Saturday 10-4. Range of ages from 5 weeks to 16 weeks old (POL). The ones in the pics just taken are 12 weeks old (easier to catch for a photo!)
