After a great day racing we got back to our yard in Cardrona to find 10/15 teenage children in our horses field. Can we please ask that those with children educate them on the safety of staying out of fields where livestock and horses are.

We did have to shout at them in order to ask them to leave the field.

No one has any reason to be in our horses fields, we have fit racehorses and also have young stock and broodmares. If our broodmares feel threatened they, like any mother will do anything to protect their baby, and can cause damage.

If these people in the field were there as they are interested in what we do, please please encourage them to message us and we’d be happy to have a chat about what we do and invite them up to see everything.

Unfortunately the next time we see anyone in the fields with our horses we will not hesitate to contact the police for their own safety and our horses safety

So parents, if your teenagers were out tonight in a group of mainly girls, please please pass this onto them, we don’t want to ruin their fun but we need to look after everyone

We do have a blurry photo of some of the group, but don’t want to go down that route.

We head back to Friarshaugh point to point tomorrow for the where Miss Wachit run in the lucky last under , stepping down in grade from Ladies races we are hopeful for a big run 🤞🤞

Brand ambassador emily_and_rosiepony have their second pony race along with club member Isobel where they will gain vital experience about race riding

Miss Wachit is entered to run tomorrow at Alnwick Races in what looks a very winnable race but due to the yellow weather warning for wind gusts up to 50mph we have made the decision to not run her, although we all want to see our horses out on the racetracks and running well safety has to come first.

We will be back in action at Friarshuaugh on the 8th of March at the Buccleuch Point to Point and hope to see some of you there.

🐎🐎 Racing Update 🐎🐎

MISS WACHIT ran in the Forsyth Of Denny Ladies Open ridden by Bekah Duffy, she jumped very well, showed a very good attitude and with struggling to go with the front 3 down the hill for the last time she dug in deep to catch the horse in front of her to finish 3rd, she looks to enjoy and take her racing very well and all being well she’ll run again at Alnwick on the 23rd of February 🤞🤞

JACK SHARP ran in The Ennova Law NPPA Conditions Race under Paddy Barlow Jumping well and traveling strongly he looked to be going as well as the other bypassing what would have been the 3rd last fence but got tired from the back of the 2nd last and finished 4th. Having been of the track for the best part of three years and having two runs in three weeks he’ll have an easy time and go again at Overton in 6 weeks time 🤞🤞

Jack Sharp runs in the 3pm Conditions (Level 3) under P Barlow

Best of luck also goes it Brand Ambassador Emily and Club member Isobel who have there first pony race today. Go be amazing girls we are all so proud

Just over a week ago Tweeddale Racing welcomed ITV Border News to the yard to find out what the racing club and Tweeddale Bloodstock have been up to. This was a great experience for the team and shed a light on the work we are doing. If you missed it or want to watch it again please watch the clip attached. We really hope this helps spark an interest into the world of pointing and we would love to hear from you or see you at your local point to point, the support given at these events does not go unnoticed. Our racehorses have busy winters pointing and training but during the summer have a change of pace as they enjoy the quieter life of dressage and showing.

Two runners todays at the Jedforest point to point at Friars Haugh. This is our most local track so it’s great to have the trailer full.

Miss Wachit, owned by Charles Cormack, the racing clubs bonus horse, runs at 3pm in the Conditions (Level 3) for grass root riders with R.Duffy taking the ride.

Jack Sharp runs at 3:30pm in the Conditions level 3 race under P.Barlow.

The team are looking forward to a great day of racing and are delighted that some of our Yorkshire members are making the trip up north for these horses debut races for the racing club

The next generation are only around the corner

Please note during this time yard visits will not be possible, however if you’re interested in joining and want to meet the horses first that isn’t an issue, we’d love to hear from you and can arrange for you to meet the horses and the team while they are out exercising

With foaling just around the corner, we will be implementing a yard closure from the 6th February until five days after the foals arrival. In order to keep disruptions to a minimum over our foaling period.

This is to:
🩷 minimise stress
🩷provide the mare with a routine
🩷 provide the mare with a consistent environment

As Jess prepares for Cup Final to return to work she has arranged for Amy to come to the area in March.

Amy has over 13 years experience of saddle fitting and can provide both a custom fit AMZ saddle (Jess has one at home for her dressage horse and is obsessed) or she can fit a wide range of saddle types and brands.

Please note Amy does not have racing saddles, she focuses on GP, Showjumping and dressage saddles

This morning we had a trip to the beach with JACK SHARP. Luckily it ended well but it could have been very different.

As a general reminder to anyone, if you have a dog on the beach and take the lead off please ensure it has recall. Today as JACK SHARP and Ross exercised on the beach they were followed by a dog, for what we think will be approximately 3 miles. The owners made no attempt to stop the dog or go after it. (As seen in the video, with Jess attempting to help)

We say this for both the safety of the horse and rider but also the dog. Fortunately today everyone came home fine and no harm was done apart from causing huge amounts of stress for Jack, the racing team and no doubt the dog.

That being said, JACK SHARP exercised well, Minnie enjoyed her first trip to the beach and the rest of the team enjoyed a stunning sunrise
