What a debut from our homebred Cloudy View who won the bumper on his racecourse debut at Uttoxeter this evening. From the family of Derby winner Harzand and top flat mare Emily Upjohn he has all the pedigree credentials to be a good horse and this was a great start. Huge thanks to Paul Collins and to brother John who has done loads with this horse. Unfortunately he will now be looking for a new 🏠 if anyone is looking for a lovely horse who looks sure to improve from this.

Lots of young horses in at the moment at various stages and with various targets. Some heading to the sales at the end of the month and some to stay at home. The video is of a 3yo Dragon dancer filly out of Expresstime who will be looking for a new home at Goffs Uk very soon. She’s a lovely sort, fully GBB registered and looks sure to have a future on the racecourse.

Nice to be associated with two flat winners today.

Jamie’s choice wasn’t bred by us but we have the dam Oh Happy Days. She has a yearling filly with us by Sergei Prokofiev and is in foal to Dragon Symbol.

Garifullina was bred by us and we sold her to John Davies as a foal.

The CANNOCK CHASE sired Run This Way won again today at Ripon, while at Ffos Las the DRAGON DANCER sired Double Dragon won a maiden hurdle at the second attempt. We have a lovely 3yo Millenary half brother to him looking for a new 🏡 .

Meanwhile we have had a busy few weeks at the sales and it has been nice to sell some lovely Dragon Dancers. Nigel Twiston Davies who bought Dirty Den from us last year has purchased a couple again and another went to Patrick Neville. We thank them for their support in us and our youngstock and wish them all the best with them.

Last night at 3am I rushed off (in my pyjamas!) to assist Rachel Frank Paul Frank with a foaling of one of their mares. The foal was coming upside down with the head slightly back. Fortunately I managed to get the foal rotated and Paul and I managed to deliver a live Kingston hill filly foal. Things can quickly go wrong with difficult foalings so it was nice to have a happy ending.

This afternoon it was lovely to receive a bag of gifts from the Frank family as an appreciation of my efforts. It was totally unnecessary as we would always do our best to help friends where possible but a very kind gesture and one that I very much appreciate.

Thankyou to the Frank family and hopefully the foal continues to thrive.

It was great to see a former inmate Dressedtoimpress win the Heart of All England Hunter Chase at Hexham earlier today. I bought this beautiful horse as a 3yo store before a freak paddock accident where he somehow got a branch stuck in his tail and panicked running through the fence and into a wall. It left him with a nasty wound to his knee and required lots of tlc. He recovered really well and we liked him so sold him as a fun pointer to Jo Murphy who has done a great job with him and been incredibly patient. That patience certainly paid off today. What a result .
