22/03/2024

We invited our vet Bob Hesketh of Vetrica Vets to come out and see our new rescue today as Bob last visited us just after we started the rescue which was then in a spare room in the house.
Bob was really pleased with how the rescue has progressed and the work we have put in.
So nice to get a professional opinion and know that what we are doing is being done correctly.
Thanks for popping by Bob and thank you for all your support ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฆ”

Rabbit Awareness Week ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ

Did you know there is many benefits to having your rabbit neutered?

1. Helps prevent disease of the reproductive organs. Around 80% of unneutered females will develop cancer of the womb by age 5

2. Allows bonded rabbits to live safely together ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‡

3. Prevents unwanted litters

What are the three main reasons for neutering your rabbits?๐Ÿง

๐ŸฐNeutering allows your rabbits to live safely in pairs or groups which is important for their welfare
๐ŸฐIt prevents life-threatening health problems (especially in female rabbits)
๐ŸฐAnd of course, prevents unwanted pregnancies

Say hello to Ginger! ๐Ÿ˜

Ginger was bought in by her owner to be checked by one of our Veterinary Surgeons after they noticed hair loss on both flank areas.

Ginger was immediately diagnosed with ovarian cysts which required surgery to remove them that same day..

Ovarian cysts are very common in female guinea pigs over the age of 1.5 years. It mostly goes unnoticed as guinea pigs are masters of hiding pain and illness due to being prey species.

Here is a picture of Ginger following surgery waiting to go home.
