We had such a wonderful time looking after Gaja, Margaux, and Batman while their owners were away getting married! 💍✨

Our days were filled with long walks, fun hikes, and endless cuddles. The girls were spoiled with plenty of treats, although Margaux made it clear her absolute favourite snack was the pears that fell straight from the garden tree 🍐💛.

Batman the cat celebrated his 16th birthday in style too… we surprised him with some chicken shaped as a “B” and a balloon (artistry isn’t our strong point! 😅).

As always, it was such a joy spending time with this lovely trio while their family celebrated such a special occasion. 💕🐶🐶🐱

🌞 Two weeks of sunshine, snuggles, and tail wags 🌞

We've just wrapped up a wonderful stay with Fern and Albi (our four-legged adventurers), Rafi and Raya (the feline royalty), plus the flock of hens and fabulous fish 🐾🐔🐟. This gorgeous group live together in pawfect harmony, which made for some magical moments, chilling in the garden with dogs, cats and hens all mingling happily 💖.

From sniffy woodland walks to full-speed zoomies in a private enclosed field we hired just for them, Fern and Albi made the most of the glorious weather. We also roped in 'Terry the Happy Dog paddling pool' for added cooling options when the heat really hit! Add in sun-drenched naps, gourmet treats, and plenty of cuddles - and you’ve got two very happy pups 🐶🐶.

This household is always a joy to care for, and we’re honoured to be their trusted sitters. Looking forward to seeing them again in October 💛

Another beautiful sit with Maximus and his feline friends! 🐶🐈🐈‍⬛

Maximus is one of our regulars, and we LOVE spending time with him. As always, our time together consisted of exciting walks around the beautiful local walking spots 🌳, a trip into town (he loves a trip to Gail’s!) ☕️, a visit to the local garden centre (specifically their dog toy section) 🦴, playing in the garden and LOTS of cuddles! 😍

Diesel was his usual adventurous self and spent lots of time with us in the garden, whilst Clarabel was happiest either sleeping or eating dreamies 🤣🐱.

It’s always an absolute pleasure to look after this adorable trio, and we can’t wait to see them again soon. Thanks for being the perfect host, Maximus! 🐾🩵🥰

🐾 Bruce is back! 🐾

For the past two weeks, we have had the pleasure of hosting Mr B. once more 😊. He is such a super little gentleman, with a heart of gold and a snore that could rival a lawnmower 😂💙

Bruce is legendary for strutting in like he never left, and promptly setting up shop in Nova's day bed, where he snoozes like a champion! Rest assured, Nova is very accommodating and has MANY other lounging options 💕.

His funny sweet character and contented energy around the boarding home means he is always welcome. His days were tailored to his needs and, aside from nap time, included two walkies, lots of chew time, cuddles (as standard of course!) and fuss.

Until next time, Bruce. You are missed already and the daybed remains fluffed and ready for you 💙.

Fun with Gracie as the summer heat continues ☀️🐶💕

It was wonderful to spend a full week with Gracie recently, where our theme was keeping cool and swimming! 💧

As with all of our boarding and sitting guests, her schedule was 100% tailored. We enjoyed 6am and 9pm walkies to beat the heat, with the middle of the day reserved for chilling, frozen treato fun and generally living like the Southern Europeans do ... there may have even been the odd midday nap for both dog and human! 💤

Gracie was the best girl and is always a fabulous adventure companion. We genuinely believe she lives her best day every day judging by her enthusiasm for, well, just about everything 🥹💛💜

We'll see you very soon Gracie 🥰

It was so lovely to be back with Duke! 🐾💛

We were delighted to be reunited with the adorable Duke the Dachshund last week! We’ve looked after him before, so it was a real treat to return to his home for more cuddles, countryside walks, and lots of quality time 🤗.

We were lucky to have such beautiful weather during the dog sit, and Duke took it all in his tiny stride – ears flapping and tail wagging on every countryside adventure. We even brought him a little cocktail toy, which he absolutely loved! 🍹😍

Blissful air-conditioned boarding ... keeping cool as the temperature tops out! 😎❄️🐶🐾

Two stays for Charlie this month! We just adore Charlie 😍 ... from the streets of Portugal to being one of the lucky few, finding his perfect furever home in England 🐾.

This super switched-on little dude never puts a paw wrong, including winning the adoration of Nova, our resident boarding dog, every time (we think it's the shared street dog vibes 😎💕).

It was walkies with the early morning light, and 'afternoon walkies' at 9pm to beat the heat. During the day, we enjoyed frozen treats and long snooze sessions (Holly may or may not have joined in ... not so much with the frozen fishy treats though 😳😅).

Come back again soon Charlie, we miss you already! 🐶💙

First aid refresher training with flying colours ✅️ 🌈

Finding a trusted dog boarder is vital to enjoy your time away, knowing your dog is in safe hands. Building a good relationship is important, but there are key checks you can make too, to help give you peace of mind 🙂.

Holly has recently passed (and very much enjoyed!) her canine first aid refresher training with a 100% pass mark 💯👍. Along with a DBS check, professional insurance and a boarding licence, this means we can continue to offer the highest standards to our clients ✨️.

So, whether with Happy Dog Holiday Care, or another pet care service, always ask if they have the following in place:

✅️ Insurance (compulsory)
✅️ First aid training
✅️ DBS check
✅️ Boarding licence (compulsory for those offering boarding services)

Hopefully first aid skills won't be needed any time soon, but we're prepared! 🙂🐶

A warm Happy Dog welcome to Herbie! 🥰🐶💙

As familiarisation visits and boarding stays go, Herbie really takes the (dog) biscuit 🦴! This little chap enthusiastically bounded into our care, took up his rightful place on the sofa, made immediate friends with Nova (our resident boarding dog) and it was as if he had lived at our boarding premises his whole life 🏡.

We LOVE it 💕 when this happens so quickly as it means we could really maximise the fun during Herbie’s holiday 😊.

Every dog is different, and we pride ourselves on tailoring their care 💯%. We can do this as we work with just one household at a time 🙂. For Herbie, his bespoke holiday consisted of two walkies per day 🐕🚶‍♀️; our morning walk was a local stroll, and the afternoon often had us jumping in the car to adventure further afield 🚗! His impeccable training meant off-lead fun and we loved watching his sprints and zoomies - some of the cutest we’ve seen 💙.

Between walkies we played with soft toys, stuffed treats into puzzles and had cuddle marathons 🤗. Our one rainy day meant extra fun was needed to make up for it, so we headed off to our local pet shop PK's Pet Supplies for a spree - yum! 😋

We had a great time (and have a sneaky suspicion the feeling was mutual). We look forward to hosting you again Herbie 🐾.

Another lovely sit with Mr Maximus! 🐾💙

Maximus is one of our wonderful regulars, and boy do we love seeing him! 🥰 We made the most of the sunny weather with lots of gorgeous walks, including trips to beautiful Frensham Pond where Maximus could splash, sniff, and explore to his heart’s content. He was the best boy in pub gardens and an absolute star in his favourite coffee spot - Gail’s - where he charmed every single customer, of course! 😍

With the sunshine on our side, we spent most of our days outside, and Maximus was in his element playing with his favourite toys, Sheepie and Horsie, in the garden. He enjoyed walking with some new found doggy friends, which can be seen in the photos! 🦮🐕‍🦺

Inside, the cuddle crew - Diesel and Clarabel - enjoyed a more chilled pace, with plenty of dreamies and all the snuggles they could ask for ☺️🐈🐈‍⬛

It really was a week full of tail wags, belly rubs, and sunshine. Until next time, Maximus! 🥰🐾🌞

🚨 Serious post alert! 🐶🐾

At Happy Dog Holiday Care, we are very serious about offering the highest quality and standard of service, for both sitting (in your home) and boarding (in our licensed premises) 🙂.

Maintaining our five star boarding licence is something we are proud of and work hard to retain 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Recently, we discovered our licence has not been appearing on Hart District Council's register of boarding premises 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Having completed our most recent audit with flying colours, we investigated further 🧐. The explanation received is that we certainly DO have a valid five star licence, however, an employee at the council, "forgot to tick a box," meaning we were not appearing for anyone checking the register online. We have also learned that they are aware of more than one business this has happened to.

Obviously this has been a huge point of frustration. There is no way of knowing how this has impacted enquiries, bookings and our reputation 😓.

Rest assured, we are fully licensed for boarding and recommend that, whether you're considering boarding with Happy Dog Holiday Care or any other provider, that you not only check the council's registers, but contact them directly too to verify a licence, as these registers cannot be relied upon.

We do have some limited spaces for both boarding and sitting over the coming months, so drop us a line if you are looking for the very best for your pets while you're away 🐶💕
