posting this a little after the Easter weekend but it’s still relevant! 🪺

just as a reminder that whilst it’s yummy as a treat for us, chocolate is NEVER okay for dogs or cats to eat in any capacity!

It contains a chemical called theobromine which is toxic and can be fatal when consumed in large quantities, don’t be fooled by thinking dark chocolate is okay either, as this is even more deadly with a higher cocoa content.

in addition to chocolate, daffodils are also poisonous to dogs if the flowers or bulbs are consumed, so be careful of curious noses when doing your spring planting! 🌼

thought I would put a dog-related spin on celebrating how wonderful books are, by recommending these two:

1. An A-Z of Exceptional Dogs by Mikita Brottman
a lovely collection of short stories by dog lovers and how they enriched the lives of notable poets, artists and writers

2. Dog Medicine by Julie Barton
both a heartbreaking and heartwarming story about the power of a dog’s love in times of need (I sobbed quite a bit at this one!)

some useful info if you’re like me and love both dogs and house plants! 🌿🦮

symptoms of a cheeky pooch ingesting any of the plants listed can include vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, lethargy, difficulty swallowing and irritation of the mouth

seek emergency veterinary care if you suspect your dog has decided to nibble on some vegetation! better to be safe than sorry 🙏🏻
