Workshops running are:
🐾 Social skills 1hr workshop
🐾 General Obedience 1hr Workshop
🐾 Ultimate recall 2hr Workshop
🐾 Tricks and games for engagement 1hr workshop
🐾 Loose lead walking 1hr workshop

Workshops are held at the Yateley Red Cross field and cost £20 for 1hr workshops or £30 for 2hr workshops.

Dogs can pick up on a routine and start to predict the next activity that will happen, this can lead to your dog demanding the next activity such as a walk time or food time, and when this activity then happens it rewards your dog for the preceding behaviour and will teach them to continue with the demanding behaviour in order to get attention. Avoiding having a routine means that your dog cannot predict the next activity and therefore will learn to listen to you for their cues on what will happen next, thus strengthening the bond between dog and owner.

There is still time to sign up to Aprils workshops. Most of the workshops available for next months still have a couple of spaces left.
The workshops provide a great opportunity to build on some essential skills with your dog from teaching them some great impulse control with the Obedience workshop or teaching them some bond building activity's to do in the park with you, in the tricks and games workshop, teach them some how to behave appropriately in lots of different social situations in the social skills workshop or teach them to come back to you in varying different recall scenarios. you can also teach your dog to walk nicely on the lead so that you can enjoy your walks together rather than being dragged down the road.

Using treats and praise immediately when your dog has done the correct thing will help your dog to associate the correct behavior with a happy feeling, meaning that they are more likely to repeat the behaviour in the future when you ask, and leads to training be a happy and fun bonding experience for both you and your dog, rather than your dog only responding through fear of repercussion.

What amazing dogs we had at this weekends workshops, the conditions were less than ideal with the heavy rain last week leading to lots of mud, but luckily the rain held off for the most part and the dogs and owners did an amazing job learning and implementing the techniques covered. Post 1 of 2
