**** health and safety post ****
First of all a huge welcome to all my new likers and followers thank you to everyone for your support and recommendations and big hello to you all.👋
As many of you are aware im very big on health and safety. Your pets are mine too when they are in my care, I also refer to your dogs as mine out of work to🥰
Its going to be hot hot hot again this week and maybe next aswel everyday I play by ear, if I can change your walk to earlier I will if not we will have outdoor water play or indoor play 🌞
WALKS - No doggo has ever died from not having a walk but has died from having one 💔 not only is it dangerous but its also risky if its to hot for you when you walk bare foot then its definitely to hot for them, their paws will burn and leave them in agony open to infection😔 you may also sustain a very large vet bill. Instead of walking them in the afternoon if you can walk them early morning or late evening.🐾🐾
CARS- many of us love taking our pets with us but theres a huge risk in hot weather and cold but for now we will focus on the heat🥵 never leave your pets unattended in a car it takes a matter of seconds for a fatality to happen even if the windows are open never put your pets in a hot car without the aircon being on before hand. Never Travel without water. Privacy glass helps. Windows help but it doesnt save a life being sensible does. 🥰
HOSE PIPES 💧- many of our beloved pets love water play and us to🤣 we tend to pick up the hose pipes and start spraying first, but please please check before you use your hose pipes first as they can become very warm in hot weather which makes the water extremely warm sometimes hot. Let it run for a minute or so before you use it this gives it a chance for the cold to come through, this is not just for pets or us but a little tip of you love watering your plants or grass😆
✨️TIPS ✨️
- check surfaces that may get to hot, pavements, decking, artificial grass etc. Check this by placing the BACK of your hand on the surface for 7 seconds if you cant leave it there for 7 seconds its to hot for you which means its to hot for them🥵
- Heatstroke
move them to a shaded area, please dont drawn them in water. Use cool water only not cold🥶 focus on their groin, armpits and tummy. PAT only with towel or any fabric or you can use your hands, DONT wrap them this will trap the heat Do NOT use ice or ice baths, offer small amounts of water only dont let them guzzle, give them lots of reassurance and stay calm. Please contact a vet they may need medical attention.🥰
Heatstroke looks like-
heavy panting, rapid breathing, drooling, restlessness, vomiting and or diarrhea, agitation and rapid heart rate. Unsure seek medical attention ASAP. 🥵💦
Enjoy the rest of your week and I cant wait to see your babies and maybe even some of you🥰. Im on a pet sit from today until the 25th July but as always im contactable but my availability maybe limited 🫶
Thank you for reading and I hope you never have to use the tips but if you do you know exactly what to do thank you for understanding their walks aswel im very lucky to have such lovely and understanding clients and your amazing pets🐾❤️
