Looking for new 🏠
🐶 Archie (Top left) is a 3 year old male collie. Friendly with people and kids. Good with dogs but can be territorial. Hates cats. Used to being kenneled and not house trained. He has a very keen work drive and has now been started on sheep. Knows his sides, stop and will come off. Needs regular work with an experienced handler to further his education.
🐶 Hank (top right) is a 5 year old male. Very friendly with everyone and loves life! Selective with dogs. Hates cats. Is trained on sheep but does lack power for bigger numbers. Would suit a small Croft where he could easily manage a small flock and be a great pet. Good recall.
🐶 Shadow (bottom left) is a 2 year old male. He isn’t great with new people but once he gets to know you is super affectionate. Not great with kids. Not interested in cats. Loves his kennel and thrives on routine. Has also been started on sheep and knows his sides, stop and will come off. Would love a working home where he could be doing more and he is a lot less reactive when around sheep too!
🐶Max (bottom right) is a 4 year old male. Very friendly and laid back boy. Fine with dogs out walking but not good at sharing so be best as an only dog. He can be noise reactive so needs a child free home. Walks well on the lead and has good recall. He would make someone a very loyal pet.

With children spending more time at home with their four-legged friends during half term, it's important to be able to recognise the signs of stress in dogs 🚦

Kendal Shepherd's Canine Ladder of Communication is a useful guide, showing the different signals dogs show through their body language to communicate. As a dog gets more upset, their body language may change according to the steps on the ladder ⚠️

The quicker you notice the early signs of stress, the sooner you'll be able to remove your dog from the situation that is causing them stress and avoid them reaching the top of the ladder.

It’s important to note that context is KEY! Think about the situation that your dog is in to try and understand the signs. For example, if they're at home and relaxed as normal, an exposed belly is very different to a stiffened exposed belly in an unfamiliar environment. All dogs are different - not every dog will show every action on the ladder and they might not follow the same order.

STRAY DOG

UPDATE: CLAIMED BY OWNER BEFORE 5PM TODAY! BRILLIANT!!

Brought in by Moray Council from Keith. It has a brain condition which causes it to spin, so should be easy to identify. Not chipped. Please let the owner know that the wee soul is here, if you recognise her.

🐾UPDATE - GOOD NEWS🐾

Nessie is home. Nessie sauntered in wondering what all the fuss was about! Her family are delighted to see her. Nessie is now grounded for life!

MISSING - ELGIN

Has anyone spotted Nessie?
Gorgeous 2 year old, Nessie is an indoor cat and escaped again from her home in the Oldmills area of Elgin yesterday. Nessie is a very small, pure bred Ragdoll who is very timid and it would be very difficult for a stranger to catch her. Nessie could easily be mistaken for a kitten due to her slight build. Jessis's family are very worried about her. Nessie will probably be very scared, disorientated and could be hiding. Please can everyone check their gardens sheds and garages in case she has been shut in and PM us with any info as comments can be missed

He’s home 🧡

Not sure if details but his mum is on her way over now. Thank you to everyone 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Update.

He’s been seen around cloddach quarry around an hour ago! Hoping he’s trying to get himself home but if we could focus around the walks at the ponds maybe? He’s obviously come out the woods, across the road and heading for home at Mosstowie. 11:20am 24th January 🙏🏻🙏🏻

***Hamish still missing. 21:55 23rd January please keep sharing. I believe he may show face tomorrow early morning around birnie or Elgin golf course area ***

Hamish has been missing since 1pm 23rd January.

Location. The level woods. Past Elgin golf course towards Birnie on the left.

He was spooked by another dog barking at him and took off into the middle of the woods. This is a busy woods and over 15 people have been out looking so in my experience he is hiding and taking shelter.

There has been no sightings of Hamish so he is thankfully not running scared and just found a safe place to hide for now.

I would appreciate if anyone is walking there not to call him just walk as normal. Any sightings please call 07817 952487 or message Walkies Moray he may come out at evening and look for shelter.
