As time rolls from one year to the next we'd like to do a post of thanks!

Thanks to all of our amazing customers for making 2024 our best ever year! Thanks for making this festive season our best ever, EVER! It was a rather intense December, ngl, but it was buzzing. Thanks for coming out to our awesome street, or visiting our markets, and supporting small businesses.

And, specifically to the floofs . . .

Our good buddy, Tom aka has been making beautiful things out recycled wood for quite some time now. He has rescued pallets, skirting boards, and other various bits of wood from landfil, and turns them into all sorts of items like these wonderful "walkies hooks"

These hook are a great way to get your dog walking bits and house in order, and at this time of year, they will make thoughtful gifts for friends and family 🐾🐾

🎄 Christmas light switch on is down The Old High Street on Friday 15th November at 5:30pm ... The countdown to Christmas has begun! 🎄

🤘🏼 "Mosh Al Horno" 🤘🏼

We made this easy to bake dish from the last few items of our box.

We used shallots, garlic, fresh sage, butternut squash, and a green/yellow thing that looked like a butternut squash, but cooked and tasted like a marrow... Hence our title 'mosh'. The scrummy veggies and herbs came and

We do like using Orzo as a substitute for rice. So we got 500g in our box , supplied by Emma at

Veggie stock cubes came from the essentials store cupboard.

Ignore the tomato stock cubes, I changed my mind and decided not to use them!

Peel and chop the squash and mosh, coat it in a little olive oil, and roast for 20 mins, in a large dish.
In the mean time, saute sliced shallots in a non stick frying pan with a little vegan butter until soft.
Then and add crushed garlic, and stir for a little minute or 2.
Add a little bottle of white wine, 1 litre of stock, and simmer for 2 mins.
Take the squash and mosh out of the oven, chuck in 500g of orzo, add the contents of the frying pan too. Stir it all about, and sling back in the oven with some chopped sage.
Salt and pepper to taste
Bake for approx 30 mins, stirring occasionally.
You may wish to add more stock dependent on how al dente you like it.

Fireworks day may have been and gone, but we all know there will continue to be fireworks, on a regular basis, right up to New Year's Eve!

So, to help combat this, even just a little, here are some suggestions of what can help.

calming shampoo with sweet nail and herbaceous thyme
snuffle mat to enrich and engage... And hopefully distract.
Dog Choc treats aid relaxation with chamomile
calming spray, with it's blend of valerian and vetiver, develops emotional well being.

Using them all, and layering their benefits, always has the best affects.

We are super, super excited to be attending the Autumn Fair at The Retreat Animal Sanctuary, Sunday 29th September 12-4pm

We've wanted to go for so, so long, but we're always so busy that we've not quite made it there. So, not only will we be going, but we'll also be trading there.

As the whole site is vegan, we'll be talking our most scrummy of vegan treats, as well as our accessories and toys.

If you're looking for something to do on Sunday, well behaved, on lead fur babies are welcome 💚

Psss ... NFH shop will still be open as normal 😏
