Our little Reggie 🧡

When our customers are super excited to come in for their grooms, it melts our hearts. It makes us so proud that they’re visibly comfortable and happy to be returning to The Shed Shed, time and time again.
We will ALWAYS put the welfare of your dog first. Humanity before vanity!

Reggie’s always been a star and we love how enthusiastic he is when he arrives. Not to mention all the cuddles we get during his visit. ⭐️

Dogs die in hot vehicles! 💔

With warmer weather approaching, we would like to share a friendly reminder that it is crucial that you NEVER leave your dog unattended in a hot vehicle, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Temperatures in a vehicle can rise to dangerous levels very quickly, even with the windows open or parked in the shade.

Dogs can quickly become dehydrated, develop heat stoke, or even die.

The temperature inside a vehicle can increase rapidly, and will be far hotter inside than outside the vehicle.

Although it is not illegal to leave a dog in a hot vehicle, it is the owners responsibility for their pets health and welfare.

Please be vigilant during the warmer weather. If you see a dog in a hot vehicle that seems distressed or showing signs of heatstroke, you can report it to the police by dialling 999 💬

Signs of heatstroke include:
🐾 Heavy panting
🐾 Rapid breathing
🐾 Excessive drooling
🐾 Bright red gums and tongue
🐾 Skin that is hot to touch
🐾 Appearing lethargic, drowsy or uncoordinated

We had the pleasure of giving our (not literally, although we wish he was) very handsome Otis his very first big boys groom, at 8 months old, and to say we were proud of him is an understatement. He was absolutely fabulous 🫧✂️🌟

A big thanks to Otis’s parents for introducing him to grooming as a pup, because it really does make a huge difference, for dog & groomer 🖤

Isn’t she lovely? 💕
Penny’s been with us since we first opened (she was a tiny pup) and has been visiting us ever since.

With regular brushing, bathing, clipping and general maintenance, at home and while visiting us, she has a beautiful coat.

Not only is Penny an absolute angel to groom, I’m always guaranteed beautiful cuddles after which makes it hard for me to give her back 😂

Penny is the proof that early grooming introductions are super beneficial to your pup ✨

As the warmer weather approaches, ticks become more active. These parasites can transmit many diseases through their bite, so it is important to help keep your pet safe 🐶

🌿 Regularly check your pet for ticks after walks in long grassy areas.

🪳Ticks prefer to attach close to the head, neck, ears and feet areas, but can be found anywhere on the body.

🌾 Regularly mowing your lawn and removing long weeds will help to reduce the chances of your pet contracting ticks, as this is where they’re likely to nest.

💦 Use flea prevention products recommended by your veterinary practice.

🪳 Please contact your vet if you think your pet has contracted a tick. The correct removal process is important to prevent transmitting infection to yourself or your pet.

Bertie - such a lovely character 🤎

We love having Bertie visiting us for his grooms. He’s always such a good boy and very affectionate, which makes our job even more enjoyable ☺️

We bathed Bertie using our luxury shampoo and conditioner; followed by a gentle face scrub, full body dry, brush and short clip all over.
We kept his cute little tuft on top - it adds to his character 🐶🫧

We just couldn’t wait to share the absolutely gorgeous Obi-wan with you all 🥰

Obi-wan is a new visitor to The Shed Shed, and he was such a dream to groom 🫧🪄
Although he was wary when he came in (which is to be expected), he settled in quickly and was very affectionate, which we love ☺️

Obi enjoyed a double shampoo and conditioner using our luxury products, dry and a full body tidy up/style 💚

As always, we look forward to seeing him at his next appointment and are very grateful for his visit.

They help to prepare your puppy for full on grooming sessions as they mature. Allows them to experience unusual sounds, smells and equipment, but more importantly it gives them a positive and enjoyable experience 🫧🛁

🐶🌿 TOP 5 TOXIC PLANTS TO AVOID ⬇️

Now that Spring has sprung, it is important to be vigilant of the hidden dangers in your garden, and on your every day walks.

Although flowering plants may be beautiful, they can be extremely dangerous to your dog’s health. Avoiding close contact with certain plants is the best way to minimise any risk.

🍃 We’re sharing the 5 most common, and toxic plants for you to be aware of around your dog this Spring.

💙 Bluebells - Dangerous if ingested as they contain a toxin that effects your dogs heart. Bluebells are often found in woodland areas, so remember to keep an eye on your dog during walks.

🌼 Daffodils - Poisonous if the flowers or bulbs are eaten. There are other substances in a daffodil flower that might also cause irritation to the skin and to the mouth and throat if ingested. If the flowers have been in a vase then this water is also highly toxic.

🌺 Azaelias - All parts of the Rhododendron plant is extremely toxic if eaten, avoid at all cost. If your pet eats any part of the Azalea, they’ll experience symptoms such as drooling, difficulty walking, vomiting and possible seizures.

🪷 Lilys - Whilst different varieties of this plant have different negative effects, overall they are all highly toxic to dogs if consumed. If a Peace Lily comes into contact with your dogs skin it can, for example, lead to burning of the mouth, vomiting, drooling and difficulty swallowing.

🌷Tulips - Although the whole plant is poisonous if ingested, the bulb is the most toxic part for your dog. If eaten, can cause irritation to your pups mouth and stomach & lead to a whole host of painful and unpleasant symptoms.

If you believe your dog has ingested a toxic plant, then we recommend that you get in touch with your local vet immediately. Please always do your own research and speak to a professional when needed.

We welcomed our very own Rudie Boy to The Shed Shed this afternoon 🖤

After being super busy since opening in October, grooming all your marvellous fur babies, it was finally time to give our own gorgeous boy a full de-shed and pamper 🫧

Although Rudie isn’t overly keen on the grooming process, we managed to successfully blow out the majority of his dead undercoat using a high velocity dryer and give him a mega brush, all while keeping within his comfort zone! Our handsome boy ☺️
