Another one worth a read folks if you have a dog.

Love is more powerful than fear! Is so true in many aspects of life, yet never more so than in training a dog. I actually read this quote on an email about playing golf! I initially thought what a catchy quote, then I thought how I agreed with it. Then I thought how apt it was when I think of dog tr...

More gold folks. Please share. Happy New year

These four things are actually built into a dogs DNA as part of their survival instincts. Yet if our dogs display any of these whilst living amongst us it is a sign that things are not quite right. It does not mean things are drastically wrong yet there is definitely room for improvement, at least f...

At least 50% of a dogs brain is controlled by its nose. Their noses are extremely powerful, even flat nosed dogs! So when we stimulate the nose we are also tiring them mentally. Whilst providing essential mental stimulation if we structure it and do it under our control. So get your dog using its no...

How are our dogs motivated. When I am initially assessing a dog at the start of a behaviour evaluation I am working out why the dog is behaving the way it is, then ultimately what I need to do to motivate the necessary changes. In my opinion there are 3 main motivators that our dogs give to us. I sa...

Hello folks If you could change one behavioural thing about your dog what would it be?

A little case study.
A lady posted on one of my posts that "she wished someone could make her dog happier", so I replied that I could. A few messages later and I learnt that since rehoming her dog in January she had already spent £100's of pounds on trainers and on equipment that she was told to buy on their advice.
With that in mind I was still confident and relayed that to her so they decided to give it a go with me.
I travelled for about an hour and a half about a week later and visited and sure enough the dog barked constantly from the moment I entered and displayed some anxiety. So firstly I had to stop the barking because we could not hold a conversation it was impossible!!!
Once I had silence I suggested a few changes and then was the main event. This was when the son-in-law visited which he does daily because that is when the dog was at her worst. The son-in-law arrived at the house after I had been there about an hour and I controlled the situation and the dog stayed silent. the son-in-law sat down and drank coffee next to me as we chatted and I taught him how to handle the situation.
Then came the answer to a question that has stayed with me. I asked him "when was the last time you came into the house and there was no barking" he replied "NEVER".
If any of this rings a bell to yourselves then please get in touch, I can resolve any issue behaviour wise and put things in place to keep it that way.

Hello all,
I am unsure if you know but I have been unwell for a couple of years so unfortunately I have not been able to do any work of any description. Now though I am firmly on the mend 😊.
In the two years, I have had time too think long and hard about my future and how I would create the perfect puppy in a class environment. That will grow to be a truly happy dog. So that is going to happen as soon as I can find a suitable venue.
If anyone has an idea of an indoor venue then please message or call me and I will look into it and it will be appreciated.
Watch this space.
