Unfortunately, I have first hand experience of facial burns on one of my dogs ๐ข
This is what is planted in the field right next to the Park, so please, under NO circumstances allow your dog into this field when entering /exiting The Park ๐๐พ
โ RAPESEED! โ
Itโs that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called r**eseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the midst to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!
Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.
Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:
โHaemolytic Anaemia
โ Blindness
โ Damaged Nervous System
โ Digestive Disorders
โ Breathing Problems
Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog was reported to be suffering from severe open wounds after running through a crop of r**eseed.
Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of r**eseed poisoning!

Previously I have joined this group because I wanted to share my story and help other dog owners by raising awareness after I've lost my 11months old cocker Ollie to an adder bite ๐
Last year my campaign saved lives of 2 dogs as far as I know, my poster was shared over 15k times and article was in many newspapers and radio.
Today marks one year since I had to say my last goodbye to my beautiful Ollie, and I would like to highlight again the FIRST AID steps in case this would happen to your dog ๐
ADDER BITES IN DOGS - FIRST AID for a snake bite:
1. Keep your dog as still as possible to prevent venom spreading around their body. If possible, bring a car to your dog or depending on their weight, carry them to it.
2. Do not apply any bandage on the bite, however you can clean the wound with cold water and apply a wrapped ice pack to help control the swelling.
3.Keep your dog warm, but not to warm, and quiet as you transport them to the vet.
Call the vet providing an estimate time of arrival to the practice.
4.Most of vets advise to give your dog antihistamine, however, please ask your vet for the advice on which brand & dose is safe for the dogs as after all this is a human drug.
5.Ask your vet about anti venom, however thereโs a massive shortage of it in the UK due to the price and short shelf life.
Adders are the only venomous snakes in the UK.
Adder bites tend to happen Feb-Oct but are especially common between Jun-Aug.
Please remember that adders are protected species, so it is illegal to hurt or kill them.
Please note that I am not a professional vet, and my poster is based on the information widely available on the vet websites. I would encourage you to read more online about snake bites.
People told me that the pain after the loss will ease by time but I must say, I still struggle and miss Ollie terribly ๐
I'm raising awareness as I wouldn't like anyone to go through what I did.
Someone told me that Ollie was here for a very important reason and I believe by spreading the word we can save more dogs ๐ฅฐ

Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.

I've been down and had a check ๐ง As expected, there is lots of water lying, mostly on the path ๐ฆ So for all of you that pestered me in summer for a paddling pool - here you go! ๐คฃ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ The selfie station has blown over. I've left it for now so if you're there before me, please DON'T try and lift it ๐ช The main thing is that all the fencing and gates are still in one piece so the Park remains safe and secure for all doggos ๐ How's everyone spending their day indoors? Afternoon folks ๐ What a cracking day it's turned out to be! ๐ Just a couple of points... That's the honesty box refilled with pigs lugs ๐ท, rabbits lugs ๐ฐ and chooks feet ๐. Please be mindful when using the honesty box and make sure lids are put back on the boxes properly. In Tae Heel have been in and restocked with special ๐ treats! Please pay for these separately ๐ฐ There is no running water at the Park so please bring water with you ๐ฆ bottles of water are in the honesty box in case you forget or run out. Please leave the shed tidy, including putting all chalks back and secure i.e shut the door. If there are any damages, please just let me know and I can get it sorted ๐ The padlock was a bit sticky after all the rain, but the young Fermer has been down and fixed it ๐ค The rubber on the bottom of the gate is coming loose, so please be mindful if you have very small dogs ๐. The big Fermer will be down to fix that as soon as he's back from the tatties ๐ฅ As always, please ensure all ๐ฉ is picked up, blah, blah blah... ๐ด And also, a wee gentle reminder of good time keeping, if you're early, there is a layby just down the road a bit, to save any reactive dogs getting upset ๐ Have a fabulous day folks, and thanks again for your continued support ๐๐พ
