Scooped a decent find on Montrose beach today! ⛱️ what is it they say? "One man's trash is another man's treasure!" 🎉

Also saw some dolphins, so all round a pretty decent dog walk! 🐬👌

Now to see when the Fermer has a wee spare minute to secure it... 🙈🤣

Please be extra careful when entering or exiting The Park, especially at the blind summit between us and Paddy School‼️🧐👀‼️

Likewise, if anyone reading this is taking part, please be mindful that especially this time of year, and given the forecast tomorrow 🌞 there will be combines out in force meaning tractors and trailers carting grain will be all over the countryside 🚜🌾

Just to say, sorry for any inconvenience at The Park today 😬

I hope the noisy, stoorie combine didn't bother any dogs (or people), it's quite a machine! 🚜🌾

The Fermer was warned to give me plenty notice to put a post up to warn you, but hey, when the sun shines n all that 🌞🤠

Anyway, they didn't get finished so will be back on the next dry day 🤞

Glad to say it stayed dry today and looks like the same but cosier tomorrow 🙌

Sad day at The Park yesterday folks when we said goodbye to one of our own 🥺❤️‍🩹

Corrie didn't fancy becoming a Guide Dog so came home to live her best life with us on the farm 💖🙌

Nearly 17 years of being The Best Dog ever 💜👊

How good is it to finally see some sunshine?! 🌞😎

Today we dropped off our 6 monthly donation to Forfar Food Bank 🛍

There was an amazing total of £378 in our honesty box from the treats in the Shed! 🐷🐰🐔😋

So thank you to everyone who bought something or donated a penny over the past 6 months 💰🤑 It really is appreciated 🥰

It was Kirriemuir Pet Supplies and Harbro Forfar who kindly helped provide this amazing amount of dog food, treats and poo bags for families' pets in need throughout Forfar, Angus and Dundee areas 🐕👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐶

Thank you once again for your continued support, and fingers crossed this weather is here to stay for at least a day or 2! 🤞😍🐾

Here's some snaps of Trainee Guide Dog Livingston enjoying the Park today 😍🦮

Livingston LOVES to dig, but unfortunately in inappropriate areas 🙄 So off he went for some enriching digging while practicing recall too 🐕👌

Did you know that digging is a very natural and enriching behaviour that dogs should be able to display 🧠 It's important that Livingston is given an outlet to display this behaviour and the sand pit at The Park offers the perfect opportunity ⛱️👍

Fingers crossed for some more settled weather tomorrow 🤞🌞🐾

Unfortunately, I have first hand experience of facial burns on one of my dogs 😢

This is what is planted in the field right next to the Park, so please, under NO circumstances allow your dog into this field when entering /exiting The Park 👍🐾

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called r**eseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the midst to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog was reported to be suffering from severe open wounds after running through a crop of r**eseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of r**eseed poisoning!

Some good advice... 🐍🐾

Previously I have joined this group because I wanted to share my story and help other dog owners by raising awareness after I've lost my 11months old cocker Ollie to an adder bite 💔

Last year my campaign saved lives of 2 dogs as far as I know, my poster was shared over 15k times and article was in many newspapers and radio.

Today marks one year since I had to say my last goodbye to my beautiful Ollie, and I would like to highlight again the FIRST AID steps in case this would happen to your dog 🐍

ADDER BITES IN DOGS - FIRST AID for a snake bite:

1. Keep your dog as still as possible to prevent venom spreading around their body. If possible, bring a car to your dog or depending on their weight, carry them to it.

2. Do not apply any bandage on the bite, however you can clean the wound with cold water and apply a wrapped ice pack to help control the swelling.

3.Keep your dog warm, but not to warm, and quiet as you transport them to the vet.
Call the vet providing an estimate time of arrival to the practice.

4.Most of vets advise to give your dog antihistamine, however, please ask your vet for the advice on which brand & dose is safe for the dogs as after all this is a human drug.

5.Ask your vet about anti venom, however there’s a massive shortage of it in the UK due to the price and short shelf life.

Adders are the only venomous snakes in the UK.
Adder bites tend to happen Feb-Oct but are especially common between Jun-Aug.
Please remember that adders are protected species, so it is illegal to hurt or kill them.

Please note that I am not a professional vet, and my poster is based on the information widely available on the vet websites. I would encourage you to read more online about snake bites.

People told me that the pain after the loss will ease by time but I must say, I still struggle and miss Ollie terribly 💔
I'm raising awareness as I wouldn't like anyone to go through what I did.
Someone told me that Ollie was here for a very important reason and I believe by spreading the word we can save more dogs 🥰

Also, I'm aware that the bl@ #£y bouy is off the rope again 🤦🏼‍♀️ but the Fermer is kinda busy just now, so it's just kicking about the Park, we'll get onto it soon 🚜

How good is it to see that big yellow thing in the sky?! 🌞😎

Just a polite reminder to please put all litter in the bins provided 🚮

There has been a lot of litter around the Park today, sadly including a smashed up chocolate Easter egg all over the car park 🍫🐣

You don't need me to tell you how dangerous chocolate can be for dogs, if you do, you're not welcome in the Park, simple 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also, if you use something from either of the first aid kits, please just drop me a message and I can get it replaced so that it's there in case someone else needs to use it 🤕🩹

And as always, pick up All 💩, even if you spot the odd missed one 👍

Like I say, a polite reminder, let's keep the Park clean and tidy for everyone, especially the doggos, thank you 👌😊🐾

Everyone who is thinking of getting dogs should read this because you need to understand this reality:

***I am a 21st century dog.***
-I'm a Malinois.
Overskilled among dogs, I excel in all disciplines and I'm always ready to work: I NEED to work.
But nowadays I get asked to chill on the couch all day everyday.

-I am an Akita Inu.
My ancestors were selected for fighting bears.
Today I get asked to be tolerant and I get scolded for my reactivity when another approaches me.

-I am a Beagle.
When I chase my prey, I raise my voice so the hunters could follow.
Today they put an electric collar on me to shut up, and you make me come back to you - no running - with a snap of your fingers.

-I am a Yorkshire Terrier.
I was a terrifying rat hunter in English mines.
Today they think I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms.

-I'm a Labrador Retriever.
My vision of happiness is a dive into a pond to bring back the duck he shot to my master.
Today you forget I'm a walking, running, swimming dog; as a result I'm fat, made to stay indoors, and to babysit.

-I am a Jack Russell.
I can take on a fox, a mean badger, and a rat bigger than me in his den.

Experienced the great, wide open spaces of Northern Europe, where I could drag sleds for long distances at impressive speeds.
Today I only have the walls of the house or small garden as a horizon, and the holes I dig in the ground just to release energy and frustration, trying to stay sane.

-I am a border collie
I was made to work hours a day in partnershipwith my master, and I am an unmistakable artist of working with the herd.
Today they are mad at me because, for lack of sheep, I try to check bikes, cars, children in the house and everything in motion.

I am ...
I am a 21st century dog.
I'm pretty, I'm alert, I'm obedient, I stay in a bag...but I'm also an individual who, from centuries of training, needs to express my instincts, and I am *not* suited for the sedentary life you'd want me to lead.
Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.
