Some pets can be very scared when they visit us for procedures, they can become frightened and be difficult to hold for what needs to be done.
This is Willow having her dressing change with Chloe and Grace.
Willow is not frightened or hard to restrain 💕🐾
3 Days to go until Nairn Show - Nairnshire Farming Society !!
Anna, Grace and of course Mooriel have been working hard to make our stand bigger and better this year! We will be there all day with a variety of demonstrations, goodies and advice for all the family including your four legged friends!
Special times demos will include:
10am-12pm meet Aris, the 23yr old tortoise.
2pm Ann will be showing you how to perform fecal worm egg counts (there will be a free worm egg count for the first farmer to bring their sheep poo to Ann!)
🐑🪱 🐑🪱🐑🪱
Faecal Egg Counts (FECS) are a great tool to monitor the worm burden in your sheep (cattle, horses and alpaca's). FECS can be used to determine the need to treat, test the efficacy of a product (anthelmintic resistance might be a bigger problem than you think!) and give information of the contamination going onto the pasture. Taking a pooled sample from your flock doesn't need to take long and might save you a lot of time later on if it shows that the worm burden is low enough that you don't need to worm!
As part of Scottish Governments ‘Preparing for Sustainable Farming’ initiative, farmers can claim £250 when doing faecal egg count testing and wormer efficacy testing. Speak to one of our large animal vets for further information.
Ethel, taking time out from her Birthday Celebration to come in for a check with Vet Jule, after she was spayed.
🎂Happy Birthday Ethel! 🎉
In case you were ever worried about leaving your pet at the vets.
We have fantastic staff like our animal care assistant Lucy keeping them entertained.
Winter is back! ❄️
Please be careful travelling to and from our surgeries. We have gritted our car parks but some side streets are still very slippy.
