It's been another action packed year for the gang and they've loved every minute.
We've welcomed some new members to our pack ☺️ and unfortunately lost a few to the rainbow bridge 🌈 😢

Mantrailing... here he is searching for his missing person (speeded up), you see him lose the trail but he works through it and gets back on the scent again and finds his person 🐾 he does a long trail then they go hide again and he does a shorter one to finish, clever boy 🐶😍

Feeding time for Lotus the Axolotl 🪱
If you look closely she has an extra leg growing out the top of her left front leg. This has most likely occurred due to an injury when she was very young before I got her. They can regrow whole limbs (and even organs) but sometimes the growth goes a wee but out of control and you end up with extra limbs etc.
Over at the Dobercademy group Dobercademy Dobermanns Training with Their Friends there is an adevent calendar of games with a daily challenge which we've been participating in.
Today's challenge was to get your dog to sit but do not tell them to stay. Walk away and sit down to see their reaction.
Arlo did exactly as I expected and couldn't contain his excitement at having me sit down at his level 🤣 far too much excitement that I may be away to play with him 🙈

Today Tessa and I did a little work on loose lead walking since we had a nice 1:1 walk today.
As you can see in the video, before I introduced the headcollar, there was very little loose lead walking that could be praised and reinforced. With the headcollar on her walking was instantly transformed and there was lots of nice loose lead that could be praised and reinforced. After having the headcollar on for about 45 minutes I took it off and did a little work without it and my goodness the difference between before, during and after was amazing. Sometimes we need a little help from certain tools in order to assist with training. It's about finding the right tool and technique for each dog. They are all individual so what works for one might not work for another.

Arlo was out with Honest Hounds this morning for a great walk at Ellon Railway Line. These walks are a great opportunity to work on training around other dogs as all dogs are on lead and also working on their own training 🐶🐾
