⭐️🐾Glamour Pooch is moving (temporarily!) 🐾⭐️
Due to circumstances, beyond our control, Glamour Pooch is moving again!

As most people know Pathways stables and units have been up for sale for a good while, and it has now been sold and due for demolition in the next couple of weeks. While works to build the new site are currently underway and making good progress, unfortunately the works including the placement of our new state of the art grooming pod placement will not be ready before the site is demolished.

We love our Glamour Pooches like family and there’s no stopping a good groomer so we’ve made the decision to temporarily move the salon home and have been working all hours so that we can continue providing the best grooming service to our customers.
🐶Our home address for the new temporary salon is 38 Church Road, Warton, PR4 1BD 🐶

Once the new site is built and the new groom pod is in-situ we will be moving back to Pathways (hopefully in in the summer)
This is only a temporary measure but we would like to show our appreciation to everyone who is sticking with us through all these changes, please make sure you like and follow the page to keep up-to-date with all the goings on at the home salon and with the renovations of the new site at Pathways.

We will be contacting each and every customer individually as they are booked in to make sure they know the location of where we’re moving to, to give directions on how best to get there along with where to park.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say that we are sorry for not giving any recent updates but we have been waiting for more information on when we can open.

We originally hoped for a government update on the 7th of May and if some restrictions were lifted, we wanted to open on the 11th of May. We have now heard this announcement will be coming on Sunday instead. So if all goes well, we plan to open on Tuesday the 12th of May... But there is no certainty yet.

We have a full list of dogs in the order that they have missed their appointment due to the salon being closed and so far have 240 dogs on the list. As you can imagine it will take some time to catch up as there are only so many dogs we can do in a day, so please be patient with us and trust that we will be doing everything we can.

Even if we can open on Tuesday, how the salon operates will need to change and adapt to meet social distancing and salon sterilising requirements. We will be detailing these plans and posting them on this page.

We will be in touch with you as soon as we know when we can open to get your Pooches booked in

As expected, the Government has announced this evening that measures are to remain in place for at least 3 more weeks. Soooo... we need to work together... is there anything in particular you’d like to see videos/instructions on and we'll do our best to help?

Please remember we are here and if you have any genuine welfare concerns to just get in touch and we will advise the best we can.

Dog groomers standing together for the NHS.

This salon is proud to be one of thousands of grooming businesses following the government and industry guidelines, closing to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus

These are difficult times and much as we would like to be open, we must do what we can to protect our clients and protect the NHS.

We miss our clients and understand that they will be getting hairier, and being closed will have a huge impact on our small business but the health and safety of humans must come first!
Dog grooming is not an essential service and all salons, including home salons and mobile vans have been recommended to close to limit the spread of the virus, though we are aware some are still trying to work it is not worth the risk to have your dog groomed. Frontline workers are putting their lives and their families lives at risk to keep us safe.

Please Stay at home

-Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (if you are a key worker)

-If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at ALL times

-Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

Rest assured that we will be doing all we can once we reopen to get everyones grooms caught up. Please stay home, protect yourself protect your loved ones and protect the NHS.

If your dogs nails are getting overgrown while they can't go to the vets or groomers to get them trimmed, here is a basic guide to help you.
Dogs have a quick in each nail, which is basically the vein inside them, if you cut into this it will bleed so always be super careful.
The quick is quite easy to see on dogs with white nails but if they have black nails, we advise you just take a very small amount off at a time. If the nail does bleed then put pressure on it with a tissue etc until the bleeding stops.
You could also use a nail file to just take the sharp edge off and a little bit of length
Remember when doing it to stay confident so your nerves don't pass onto your dog and get someone to help hold your dog if possible

Following the announcement by the government it is with a heavy heart that Glamour Pooch is now closed until further notice.
All appointments are now cancelled for a minimum of the next 3 weeks. We are grateful for your patience and understanding at this difficult time and will be in touch with everyone in due course for rebooking once it is safe to be open again.

While dog grooming is deemed a non essential service by the government we are all too aware of the importance of grooming your dogs for their welfare and well-being
In the coming weeks we will be posting about caring for your dogs coat at home, essential care and how to brush properly and thoroughly.

Our first charity Christmas shoe box appeal for local dog rescue Homeless Hounds has been and incredible success!
All this wouldn't have been possible without our customers sharing in our passion for helping our four legged friends.
Homeless Hounds mission is to rescue and re-home, abandoned and abused dogs from the streets of Lancashire, giving them a second chance at a life filled with love and security.
And hopefully we've helped make their Christmas a little brighter this year.
