A new addition to our refreshing summer drinks and ices, are Paw Pops, "freeze at home" dog ice pops. All are also available in Dory's Cafe for next time you "pop in".

Today we were the final stop on the Dog Walk as part of the fantastic week-long Frodsham Festival of Walks. At the end of the walk, the dogs enjoyed a puppacino and goody bag whilst their humans a coffee and cake. It was great to see everyone!

Do you have a Kong classic? Well you can now turn it into a ball with the new Kong thrower. It fits medium and above Kongs and goes for miles. As the Kong is a strange shape it bounces randomly too.

Our Team - Glenyss
Without the team, Tail Mates and Dorys just wouldn't be the same so I thought I'd introduce them. It's appropriate to start with Gjenyss, as she was the very first person to join Tail Mates. Glenyss works in Dorys and everyone, and the dogs love her. She is not only hard working but she is so kind, not just to customers, but to all of us. Glenyss also makes Simply Pawsome treats, which are very popular in the shop. She has a lovely older dog called Paddy. Paddy loves a well stuffed Kong and Glenyss's treats of course! Say hello to Glenyss next time you're in.

Puzzle games, toys and feeders can exercise your dogs and cats mind and body, prevent and reduce boredom, and help with weight management. In summer I make them in the morning and pop in the freezer so it takes my dog ages to eat her tea.

Our new Dog cake supplier, Life of Riley, even have a bake at home option. You can just add water but you could also add meats or veggies and why not decorate with dog safe peanut butter and treats.

NEW Green and Wild stock in.

These are lovely toys made from pure jute and split leather. The toys are twin stitched over four layers of jute, filled with cotton jute rope. All components of these toys are made of 100% natural and non-toxic materials and completely biodegradable. Dogs love them.

This adorable puppy is Reuben. He's an unusual mix of a Papillon and Spitz. We don't see many of either breed in the shop. It'll be lovely watching him grow.

Who'd have thought there would be dogs in a pet cafe?
These days reviews are so important to a business, especially in the early days when one low scores drags your average down. I would urge people to think about what they post, for any business, and the impact a poor score can have. Im not saying dont give bad reviews or complain but is there a better way than straight to a bad post ? Speak to people, give feedback directly. Owners would welcome it and act on it.
Dory's Cafe is a dog friendly cafe, inside Tail Mates pet shop. But for this we've been punished, even though our coffee was good !

Merry Christmas!

I'm sure most people know the foods that are toxic for dogs but a reminder doesn't do any harm and some are absolutely more potent than others, like xylitol and grapes. Some will make your dog sick but just 3 grapes are enough to kill a puppy or small dog.

Please avoid feeding your pets food from our "Naughty List" to keep them safe during the holidays. You can read more information about pet safety and pet-safe foods on the ASPCA website.
