The last few days I’ve spent decluttering, rearranging and deep cleaning the salon - even with the dryers on for heat it was still cold & ice was still on the inside 🥶
The pipes are still frozen with no water as well as most things inside the unit 😳 (see photos in the comments!)
The salon (and me!!) are so ready to get back to grooming all your lovely dogs - let’s just hope the weather warms up this weekend as predicted 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
I’ll be in touch with everyone as soon as the water is flowing!!!

Come groom Doug with me 👋
🟣 Doug is a very good girl for her grooming and with all that hair that comes out she makes the perfect model for a mini video!😍🟣
💜Happy Wednesday!💜
I always get asked about the best ways to brush your dog. What to look for in regards to matting. Equipment best for keeping a knot free coat so I’ve done a mini video demo on the beautiful Bella☺️
*Filming by yourself is harder than i thought🙈🤣*
If you want to know the best way to brush your dog best for their coat & behaviour feel free to ask I am more than happy to show you at your next appointment☺️ I also have in stock Slicker brushes, combs and a detangling shampoo for sale in the salon 🐶
Equipment Needed:
🐾 Slicker Brush
🐾 Comb
🐾 Detangler (optional)
Top Tips:
✂️ Brush with the coat to begin with, then brush against the coat. This will ensure it brushes all the hair from the roots not just over the top.
✂️ Once the coat is brushed through use your comb, wide end first and go through the coat. If you come across any knots DO NOT just tug at it, ease it out gently with your comb and some Detangler if you have some. The less pulling on the dogs skin the better.
✂️ Once you can get through the coat smoothly use the closer end of the comb to pick up any smaller knots if any.
☺️ Once you can smoothly get a comb through your done with a mat free dog!!🤩
Main places to focus on:
🐶 Ears
🐶Muzzle Area
🐶Neck & Chest - Areas that have collars and harnesses on
🐶Legs
🐶 Tail
Regular Maintenance:
❗️Daily brushing is needed for all breeds with longer hair, especially those with curly coats. (Cockerpoos, cavapoos, Cavachons, poochons ect..)
❗️Regular grooming is essential
❗️You should be able to part the coat and see the skin clearly.. if the hair is clumped together, you can’t see the skin and/or isn’t able to part the hairs individually it will be a matted coat.
‼️Remember matting on a dog causes the skin to be stretch and pulled when they move, cause painful hotspots under the matts, cause skin irritation, stop the blood flow to areas such as ears and tail
