My insurers had declined to insure buildings other than brick ones a couple of years ago!

Well, Storm Darragh certainly struck Hillview Llamas with avengance yesterday afternoon. All the females were penned inside their shelter/hay store with a fresh bale of hayledge at 2pm to protect them from the storm, by 4pm they were admist wreckage. The whole roof (20x5m) had been lifted, telegraph poles and rafters included, by the wind. Then later in the evening, another smaller shelter turned on its head. Thank you to those friends who helped me make things safe today. The rebuild will take some time and any volunteers welcomed.

This was me holding Henry on Friday afternoon, the following day he died!. A very sad day at Hillview Llamas! The cause on the surface appears to be hypothermia but of course there could be additional underlying contributory factors. No commiserations thank you, please just enjoy the photo to remember him by, especially those who had the pleasure of meeting this joyous little fella.

Well I never! Please welcome to the herd, Henry!. He could only have been fathered by Fritz who will be 2 tomorrow! Fritz's father, Black Pearl, was also less than 12 months old when he shared his genes. A warning to anyone who thinks it safe to let such young males run with females!
