The very handsome Stanley! He thinks the pool is great fun, and after an initial period of more intense regular sessions, he now attends for maintenance to keep his hindlimbs strong and maintain joint range of motion 🐾💦

Millhaven’s Rebecca and her own girl Ginny 🩷 Ginny has been a regular in both the pool and water treadmill for many years now, joining us for pre surgery strengthening and continuing following her total hip replacement. She attends now for maintenance, and if you asked her… the treats! 🐾💦

Marley will always have a very special place in the hearts of all of us here at Millhaven. This fundraiser has been started in his memory by his incredibly dedicated Mum, and the money raised will go to help dogs with disabilities at Pumpkin & Friends Charity 1199484

Maebh joined us to help support hindlimb strength and co-ordination following a diagnosis of degenerative myelopathy, she has treatment in both the pool and water treadmill 🐾💦

The properties of water, such as viscosity and buoyancy, increase sensory input for our patients, and can improve proprioception. For Maebh this means when she is in the water she is more aware of her hindlimbs and able to use them more effectively than she can on land. This can then carry over to when she is out of the pool, and it was lovely to see an improvement in how she was stood and walking after her session. Great job, Maebh 🌟

7 month old Monty has been coming for puppy introduction sessions since he was 11 weeks old (puppies can join us after their vaccinations!) His owner wanted to add in something different for him as he was exploring the world for the first time.

When he first joined us we worked on making the centre a really positive and fun place to be, just taking it all in, trying on his jacket and getting to know us. At his next session we introduced the pool, we wanted him to build confidence around water and our handling at his pace. It was an absolute joy to see him enjoying being in the pool so much 🐾💦

He is now a regular at the pool, where he can have fun and burn off some of that puppy energy supported by the buoyancy of the warm water while he grows. Great job, Monty 🌟

Rosie could not love her time in the pool more! Rosie is full of beans and always ready for fun, she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and the non weight bearing environment of the pool allows her to have a good mental and physical work out without the impact on her joints she would have on land 🐾💦

This lovely boy is Milo, and he loves his time in the pool, as long as he can keep an eye on his Mum poolside, isn’t he gorgeous?! 😍🐾💦
