WHO IS A BREEDER ⁉⁉⁉
A Breeder (with a capital Β) is one who thirsts for knowledge and never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convenience, and commitment.
A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, friendships, fancy furniture, and deep pile carpeting!
He/She gives up the dreams of a long, luxurious holiday in favor of turning that all important Show into this years "vacation".
The Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee ☕) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry.
The Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due or the babies have to be fed at eight. Disregards birth fluids and puts mouth to mouth to save a gasping new-born, literally blowing life into a tiny, helpless creature that may be the culmination of a lifetime of dreams.
A Breeder’s lap is a marvelous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed.
A Breeders hands are strong 💪and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose.
A Breeder’s back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the whelping box, but are strong enough to enable the breeder to Show the next choice pup to a Championship.
A Breeder’s shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations and cruise forward to that ever longing Best In Show.
A Breeder’s arms are always able to wield a mop, support an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a newcomer.
A Breeder’s ears are wondrous things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being pressed against a phone receiver), often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a tiny sick puppy.
A Breeder’s eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to his/her own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to the competitions faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen.
A Breeder’s brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than an IBM computer . It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse: it catalogues thousands of good boning, fine ears, and perfect heads... and buries in the soul the failures and the ones that didn't turn out.
The Breeder’s heart is often broken 💔, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting... and it's always in the right place !
But YES!!! There are BREEDERS !!!

What a great start to 2025 for "Team" Daedal. "Shadlisa On A High Together At Daedal" (Paddington) Qualifying for Crufts 2026 by winning Best AVNSC Terrier & Terrier Group 3 from a Terrier Group of 15 other Terriers. May we first thank Chrissie for looking after Susan & Queenie bless you for giving up your day to be with them.Also Thank-you to our Judge Mr Keith Baldwin (Nightstorm) for thinking highly of our Boy. Also it was so lovely to spend the day with Jan & Keith and thank-you so much Jan Favell for the lovely photo's a great day was had by all & Issi you done wonders getting the Trolly into the Venue you have passed your Test lol❤ !! WEST OF ENGLAND AIREDALE TERRIER CLUB!!!On Sunday the 19th of January 2pm club members are welcome to join us to learn how to hand strip your Airedale. If you are not a member you can join on the day. (Membership is now due £7 for whole household)

A social event with tea and cake. Learn how to trim your Airedale Terrier. It's great for bonding with your dog will save you money at the groomers. It also looks and feels so much better than clipping.

Bring your Airedale along with any grooming equipment you may have.

Committee members will be on hand to help get you on the right track.

What a day for "Team Daedal" Under Terrier expert Jamie Emmett "Shadlisa On A High Together At Daedal was Awarded Best Of Breed & Terrier Group 2 out of a Terrier Group of 13. "Daedal Frozen In Time" was awarded Reserve Best Of Breed and then went onto being Awarded !!Best Reseve Best Of Breed In Show!! under Judge Bridgette Bodle plus £10 Prize Money. "Brisline's Born In The USA For Daedal IMP/USA/ShCM/VW " was awarded 2nd out of a Terrier Veteran Class of 10.We thank both Judges who thought highly of our Airedale Terriers. We left the Venue at 19.30pm a very long but enjoyable day with our fellow exhibitors.❤

Saturday off to snecs to Lothian canine club under judge Mandy Davies (Wystry )
Bob and terrier group 4

Then on Sunday off to lanark to the Hamilton canine club under judge Alan Johnston (Oregill) where she won Bob and terrier group 4
Thank you to both judges for thinking so highly of Amber
And to both clubs for lovely friendly shows and all the hard work that goes into putting on these open shows
