Maverick is a handsome lad who loves to work. He is great to handle and nicely mannered. He has been hunting and enjoyed local common ridings. We’ve also had him over a few jumps in the school and cross country.
Maverick would be most suited for a confident teenager or small adult. He can get a bit strong, but no badness in him.
Apologies for being extremely silent on socials over the past few months. I’ve had a few 4 legged visitors taking up a lot of my time (that and the girls taking me to what feels like every pony event 😂).

Welcome back Oscar!!
You might remember this handsome 4yr old. He was with us last summer to get backed and ridden away. He's had a lovely winter break and is ready to get back into work .
Fraser and Bertie had an amazing time at the Berwickshire Hunt Race yesterday. Coming in 5th out of 12 competitors.
Well done to the Berwickshire Hunt for such a fun organised race.
What a beautiful morning to finish off 2023
Clooney our 4 year old is coming on great. He is not one to be rushed, but what he has been doing, he's thoroughly enjoyed.
He's definitely the yard clown, he's quite the character 🤣
Fraser and Bertie recently took part in the Belsay Bounce 2023. Both of them had the best time. Bertie was his usual gentleman self and cleared absolutely everything.
Freya and Lois (along with the Dom and Silver) tagged along for the road trip too.
Here is another really nice horse I've had in to get going after his holidays.
He's full of character and off back to his owners today.

This was Clooney's first time out on hound exercise and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. He certainly is a fun chap.
🌟Blair International Horse Trials 2023 🌟
On Thursday we travelled up to Blair International Horse Trials with Bertie. We were fortunate enough to qualify for the Greaves West & Ayre / BHS Scotland Riding Club Style Jumping Series Final which was held on Friday at the Horse Trials. This was Berties first overnight stay and first time competing in such a busy environment and he behaved perfectly 🌟.
We were the very first combination to go on Friday morning and Bertie made light work of the course and jumped a lovely clear round. This was a very big and competitive class and sadly we didn’t pick up a placing however, Bertie was ever the professional and did everything asked of him. Both myself and his owner Kenny were delighted with him. It was a great couple of days away and it was great to have Tammy, Lois and Freya and of course Bertie’s owner Kenny with us too.
It has been a busy week for bringing home silverware for the Ainslie Family. 🏆🏆🏆
On Monday night Freya and Silver won the Braw Lads’ Gathering pony race as part of the Lindean Rideout.
Saturday seen Lois get the trophy for youngest rider.
Today, Fraser and Bertie won overall champions for the Working Hunter at EFRA show.

Stunning 12hh Welsh Section A pony for sale. “Thistledown Jason Kenny” is a 5 year old grey gelding with stunning paces and plenty of scope. Jason has been carefully produced over the last year and ridden regularly by his 6 year old and 8 year old owners. Jason had a successful showing campaign last summer, never out the ribbons and won two ridden championships. In addition to this, Jason has enjoyed numerous pony club rallies, show jumping competitions, working hunters and days out hunting with the hounds. He is a forward going pony with plenty of scope, jumping courses of 75/80cm and fillers with ease. Sadly, his owners have now outgrown Jason and he is ready to give others lots of fun, he is safe and sensible but is forward going and therefore, would be well suited to a confident rider. Jason is happy both on and off the lead rein and is ridden in a Snaffle. He is not phased by traffic and regularly hacked out along roads and through the hills amongst livestock.
A sad sale of a much loved family pony who has bags of character with the ability to match. Jason has a lot of potential to progress even further in his next home.

Successful morning at Peebles Show yesterday for Fraser and Freya.
Fraser and Bertie came 2nd place in the ridden hunter class.
Superstars Jason and Freya came 1st in the first ridden pony class. This fantastic little pony will be coming up for sale soon. 👀
Fraser has been busy since returning from his break in Canada.
Last weekend seen him attend the St Boswells show with Cloony and Mara. This was Maras first outing and he behaved very well for a yearling.
Cloony our 3yr old also behaved well and as usual took everything thrown at him in his stride
This morning Fraser had Oscar at the Border Union Show for his first outing where he was placed 2nd.
It wasn't all about Fraser today as Freya also took part at the show and represented the Buccleuch Pony Club along with 5 other kids. It was great to see all pony clubs together and Freya has come away with the biggest smile and lots of ideas 😃
A full yard outing to Lindean on Monday to support The Braw Lad and Braw Lass to kick off Braw Lads Week. A great night was had by everyone and a couple of new faces were enjoying their night too (Harmony and Joy 🐴)! A super turnout and the weather even stayed dry for us ☀️. Only person missing was Mrs Ainslie but she was supporting on foot. Some great photos from Peter Dalgleish and Neil Renton, thank you. ▫️◾️▫️
Almost July … where has the time gone?! It’s been a busy couple of months for all the horses and ponies in the yard. Freya and Lois have been supporting all of the local rideouts with their superstar ponies Silver and Dom. Fraser has been busy getting a few of the younger horses and those needing some life experience, out to some of the rideouts and hunt rides too. Lois won the youngest rider at Melrose on Monday, she is so pleased with her trophy! It’s been a really busy time on the yard with a couple of new faces too 🌟

“Step aside dad we’ve got this”. You might remember Mara who came to us at 6 months old and is now 3yrs old. He was definitely ready to be doing something and Freya and Lois were more than up for the challenge. Freya has quietly backed him ridden him away. Some highlights from a busy weekend 🌟 Bertie showjumping at ISEC on Saturday, a year ago to the day since he did his first SJ competition up there. He has come on a lot since then and is proving to be a lovely horse 🤩. 4yo Ozzie is enjoying hacking round the hills and has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of months ☺️. A busy day on Sunday at the Jed Forest hunt ride with the full Ainslie team out in force. Tammy had a great time as did Freya and Lois. Dom, Silver, Lady and George all behaved really well which made for a great day out 🌟 . Fraser had a thoroughly enjoyable morning at the Buccleuch Brush up on Sunday. This lovely 12yo coloured mare was foot perfect for her first time over the hedges and jumped the rails and other fences with ease. Remy has been enjoying plenty of days hunting out with the Duke of Buccleuch Foxhounds and has been jumping everything asked of her first time. A very genuine, safe and sensible mare for someone to have a lot of fun with. She is easy to do in all ways and continues to exceed all expectations. ****SOLD**** 🌟 Friarly Rusk 🌟 Stunning little 5 year old 12hh grey Welsh Section A pony looking for a new jockey. He is registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society. Rusk is a forward going chap who likes to be kept busy and on the go. Since arriving with us, he has been ridden by Frasers two daughters (6yo and 8yo) who have had lots of fun. Rusk has been to gymkhanas, hunt rides and had lots of lessons over the last few months with both girls. Has been jumping courses of 65cm with fillers and water trays as well as tyres and rustic fences too. Whilst Rusk is without a doubt a super little pony, he has been ridden off the lead rein mainly by a very competent 8 year old. He has however, been a super lead rein pony in the past and would be more suited to a lead rein home or second ridden home for a competent rider. As you can see from the photos and videos, he has plenty of ability, has gained a lot of life experience in the last few months and will turn his hoof to whatever is being asked. Holiday time is over for this pair! Cloony is back in for a few weeks to enjoy a bit of a pamper and some more handling. He will then head back out for the winter before coming back in as a 3yr old next year. Dominic has enjoyed his wee break and will now get ready for his first hunting season with Freya 🦊.

First of the newbies to make an appearance is Nora 🥰 Nora joined the team less than 2 months ago and had only been lightly backed. I took Nora on her first outing today, she was a super star. I couldn’t have asked more from her!! Huge well done to the Lauderdale Hunt on a well organised ride. The ride was excellent, both the views and the weather were amazing. Smiles (and sunburn) all round from team A.
This stunning young horse is in to be broken. He’s only been with us 2 weeks and is doing amazing, he’s going to be a cracking horse for someone. Here he is with Molly who rode him away for the first time along the road.
**Rusk** Rusk has been with us for just over a week. He’s enjoying furthering his education and has been brought on from lead rein to first ridden in the short time he’s been here. Unfortunately my legs are a bit too long so my 8yr old daughter Freya is helping out and is doing an excellent job!
Joey has had a busy week this week. Firstly, a lesson at Timpendean with Anne Millar on Tuesday for some jumping gymnastics and then he headed up to the ISEC Jump and Go night on Wednesday with Fraser. He jumped everything asked of him at ISEC with no fuss and showing lots of potential for the future. He behaved really well, especially as this was his first time up there and there is lots to take in. Joey will be heading off on his mini holidays just shortly to get some time at grass and a chance for him to have some well earned down time before he returns later in the year for some more education 😊🌟🙌🏻 #FraserAinslieEquestrian #YoungHorses #Joey #Progress
On Sunday we managed to get two babies of the yard up to ISEC for their first competition and first time at Ian Stark Equestrian Centre. Both Bertie and Snoopy behaved exceptionally well for Fraser and both popped round the 60cm SJ class nicely. A lot for them to take in but they will come on for their first time out and really looking forward to getting them out again hopefully this weekend 😊🌟 #FraserAinslieEquestrian #HappyDays
As restrictions continue to ease, we have been able to get back out and about with some of the horses. This has allowed us to have 1:1 lessons with Anne MIllar at Timpendean who thankfully, is not far from us. Joey has been going for the last 3 weeks now with Fraser and is coming along really nicely. He’s proving to be very careful and scopey, showing his natural ability. Hopefully we will be able to get out to some competitions in the near future, it would be great to get Joey out and about and put all his new learning and skills to into practice 😊🤞🏻🙌🏻 #fraserainslieequestrian #younghorses #excitingprospect
