You may remember seeing posts for a young pup named Kairo who was looking for a home.

The owner needed him rehomed sooner than our process would allow so he didn’t come into our care. The best we could offer was to share him as a ‘home to home’ in hopes of finding someone interested in taking him on.

Unfortunately his new home is not working out and we’ve been asked again to share him with the Scottish Dobermann community as they don’t have time to go through our rehoming process.

Please contact the owner directly. This dog is not in our care and will not have rescue back up.

“We rehomed Kairo. doberman 7 month old.
He's a lovely dog.
He’s very clever and trains very quickly. He loves fetching a ball and good on recall, He has never bitten.
He can’t be left at home himself. As he has separation anxiety and Cannot be left in the car, he barks and punches the window with his paws.

Kairo's Information for Rehoming:

- Age: 7 month-old male Doberman, fully intact. Personality: Affectionate, cuddly, and intelligent (house trained, knows commands like sit, paw, stay, lie down)
- Behaviors:
- Exhibits separation anxiety; barks/howls when left alone, despite various attempted solutions.
- Still bouncy and may jump on children.

- Health Details:
- Microchipped and fully vaccinated.
- Registered with a Vet
- Weight at last appointment (04/02/2025): 27.5 kg.
- Diet: Ava puppy kibble for large breeds with some Raw food for flavor.
- Gets 2-3 hours of exercise daily, enjoys fetching.
- yearly booster due February 2026.

He will come with crate.
Toys. Blankets.
Treats. Raw food. Kibble.
Poo bags.
Bowls.
Figure 8 leash. To help with pulling.
Everything to start him off in a safe & loving home.

Reason for re-homing:

Previous owners have done great work with him.
He however pulled quite a bit.
My partner has put a lot of work into him since having him.
My daughter has heart problems. & recently diagnosed with scoliosis due to 3 open heart surgeries.
She has surgery coming up. Which will require both myself and her dad to be with her in Edinburgh.
She will be admitted for some time after surgery.
And sadly we can’t take Kairo with us.
We didn’t take these things into consideration when rehoming him.
So it’s not his fault. It’s purely ours.
So we are hoping someone can give him their time, love & affection.

URGENT - FOSTER HOME NEEDED

Can anyone foster Adobe and start helping with his issues while we search for his forever home?

His owner's circumstances have changed and he's gone from having someone with him most of the time to being on his own for long periods and he really isn't coping with that at all. His owner is struggling to manage and this poor boy is just miserable.

He's 2, very boisterous and needs to learn manners with other dogs but has shown no aggression. He'll need a foster home with

No other pets
No children
Breed experience
Someone who can be at home most of the day
Spaces where he can get rid of his boundless energy
Someone who can handle the fact that he's big and pulls heavily on the lead

He will make a wonderful companion if we can just get him to someone who is willing to work on his issues. SDR will of course provide the foster home with full support.

🐾 Introducing Billy – Looking for Her Forever Home! 🏡❤️

Say hello to Billy, our newest addition, a gorgeous 5½-year-old Dobermann cross who’s searching for her final forever home after having had three previous homes. This sweet girl has been in her current home for around 6 months, but she struggles with being left alone and will bark constantly until someone returns. Because of this, Billy needs a home where someone is around most of the time to help her settle and feel secure.

You know, there are days (and weeks) when we do wonder why the heck we bother.

And then we get a photo like this - our Trevor, newly adopted, enjoying the best day of the year so far at the beach with his new family and pal. Are those happy doggos or what? It lifts the spirits to know that when we get it right, we have changed a life for the better.

They took on a doberman pup from a family member just before Christmas.
He's a lovely dog loves affection n lots of cuddles and big wet kisses. When we were left with kairo at 17 weeks he was completely untrained. He’s very clever and trains very quickly. He loves fetching a ball and good on recall, we have socialised him well and he's great with other dogs except for my own dog. He has never bitten or shown aggression.

He is still very bouncy and despite the training, he still constantly jumps on and knocks over my 5yr old little girl. Kairo seems to have seperation anxiety, whenever someone is home he is great but the minute he is at home on his own he barks and howls non stop till someone comes home, we thought he was possibly barking at the other dog but we tried taking her with us and this past week and a half with her not being here he is still doing it, we have tried going out for short periods of time and increasing it but it's not working, we have tried bark boxes, anxiety vest, anxiety plug in, anxiety teddy etc none works. The only time he is left alone in when I take my kids to school. Cannot be left in the car, he barks and pounches the window with his paws.
