It is an activity for both owner and dog, All the basics are covered including real scentwork which is equally rewarding and fun. Galleywoofer's Dog Training teaches 'Smart Dog Training'. Be a smart dog owner. Classes are limited to around 8 handlers so you will not find 12 dogs leaping, barking walking around in a circle. The dog and owner will have the attention they deserve. We don't teach hee

lwork...we teach loose lead work. So your dog enjoys the walk and you have a managable dog on the end of a loose lead. Reward based training, we encourage the dog to deliver the behaviour smartly. Both dog and owner go home smiling! :)

A peaceful and secluded cricket ground is the main venue. The dogs are trained in a real environment, not a village hall, some of which can be quite alien to dogs. Fun, fair and effective is the Galleywoofers way! Be a smart dog owner!

At Galleywoofers today (and The Tuesday Club yesterday) we had a football theme!!! You had to recall your dog like you were receiving a pass or cross and then send him between the goalposts for a GOAAAAL!!! So, that involved a RECALL and a SENDAWAY.

At the end of the class...yes...inevitably...PENALTIES! You were the GoalKeeper. You recalled your dog from the Penalty spot and had to save the goal by preventing him from crossing the goal-line! Oh, and there was a distraction behind you (food!). This can be the case in the real world as you call your dog back but behind you is another dog or a picnic or something. Some great goals and some good saves (and one true dive!).
Well played all. I think it bodes well for England FC later!

Sad to announce the passing of Debbie's Tula the Toller. I met Tula during a puppy home visit (see photo I took) and she has remained a member of Galleywoofers and The Tuesday Club ever since.
Tula was a clever little Toller who always had one eye on Debbie at all times.
Debbie will continue at The Tuesday Club with Tula's housemate, Kora.
Our thoughts are with Debbie and her family.

Had some sit-stay/down-stay fun today. Leaving the dogs and standing in a hoop each. Then forming a human wall and ducking behind the wall, effectively briefly out of site. And then returning to the dog. Well done class!

At Galleywoofers today, we had an Olympic themed exercise. A relay!!Getting the baton over the finish line. Teamwork was involved and keeping the dog in a sit stay with Rosie the Puppy in the last leg to finish it. Good work team! Gold medals and coffee!

⚽️Penalties at Galleywoofers⚽️ You were the England Goalkeeper. The cone behind the goal line was loaded with a treat. You called your dog and had to prevent him from crossing the goal line. Saving the Danish penalty! Great work folks. In real life the cone with a treat could be another dog or any distraction. You don’t want your dog shooting past you when you recall him. Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Charlotte in goal with Teddy…

Today at the TUESDAY CLUB and before the big game. We played football. Dog had to be sent into the penalty box (send away) and then cross the goal line between the goalposts (around)! GOAL! We all scored!! Here Treacle and Penny demonstrate a goal!!!
