Update on new tech and opening hours at Forest Hall today....we would like to thank many of you for your patience and support with the new IT systems we have in place❣️ The team are slowly getting to grips with the new computer system, whilst trying to overcome some operational issues which have only become apparent after installation.🤔
🌳🌳 Forest Hall branch will have no cover until 2pm today Friday 21st June, due to staffing shortages, so to avoid frustration we urge you not to call (NB phone will still ring out when no one is there during usual working hours) nor pop along before this time. Any emergencies please call our Heaton branch🌳🌳

We would like you to bear with us over the next few days...🙏...we are changing computer systems and are aware this may cause some disruption to normal service. We hope the transition will go smoothly but the staff may take a little while to get to grips with the new system🤞. We have already experienced some transitional problems with new equipment at Forest Hall yesterday and today which IT is working to resolve. All sites will go live tomorrow and as with any technology there could be more glitches in store....🤷‍♂️....we have been advised emails will not be accessible for a short period, we will advise when they are back up and running but in the meantime anything unanswered can no longer be accessed and may be lost. Thank you for your patience and respect to all staff during this transition in technology 😎❣️

🤞🖥️🖨️***UPDATE***💽💾👍
Yesterday we had tentative lift off and after a long hard week the computer system was resurrected. We hope and 🙏 it remains stable throughout the weekend and there are no further glitches to wake up to on Monday! As you may appreciate inbetween treating animals our team has been working very hard to catch up with everything 🐝🐝🐝 : ensuring medication, notes and appointments are input to the system. There is a time lag with some aspects such as lab work and emails as these functions were not resolved quite as quickly and we have had to prioritise our efforts. We do applaud all of the kindness that many of you have shown us 👏 it does matter. Thankyou for you patience 😻

⚠️⚠️⚠️update HIGH IMPORTANCE⚠️⚠️⚠️
We had hoped the IT issues mentioned in our last post would be resolved, however sadly work is still in progress to get us back up and running. We have no access to any computer records, nor emails. Although existing appointments are not affected, we kindly request that you only call if your pet is unwell and defer calling for any routine medications such as flea/wormers. PLEASE try and remain courteous to all staff through this frustrating and difficult time 🙏 There may be some overlap with appointment times therefore waiting times may be affected. We will update you as soon as we know the issue is resolved.

There will be some disruption next week to our Billy Mill and Forest Hall surgeries. Due to holidays Billy Mill will only have cover Monday 8.30-11.30am/3.30-6.30pm Monday, 8am-4pm Tuesday, 8am-3pm/ 4-6pm Wednesday, 9-11am Thursday and 8.30-11.15am Friday. During normal working hours, outwith these times please call Chillingham Road in cases of emergency. Due to building works there will be no vet available on Friday 22nd at Forest Hall, variable 1hour closures for lunch on the other days.

Just to avoid confusion *all of the surgery numbers remain the same* however if we call you during a 1-2month transition period you may not recognise our number. Please don't adjust your address books and continue using the original numbers when you need us, as they remain correct (eventually the transitional temporary number you may see will disappear and no longer be available)

Regarding Forest Hall and North Shields,
due to staff shortages, the week of 20th November
Forest Hall : there will be *no* cover to man the telephone or for drug collections Monday until 1.45pm (closed until then) nor between 11.00am-1.45pm Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday *will* be covered until 1.45pm but closed in the afternoon, Friday no cover 2-3pm.
This *doesn't* affect consultation bookings or the rest of the working day not mentioned above.
North Shields : will have reception cover but no vet cover Monday pm and Thursday am. It will be closed on Friday.
