Great news for Rolo

BREAKING POSITIVE NEWS!!!!

This has to be one of the best ever stories to finish 2023 with…

Rolo the XL Bully won’t live his life out in kennels, Maxis Mates together with the help of Mandy Butler from Lost Dog Trapping Team have been able to locate Rolo a rescue space in Scotland.

This means Rolo won’t live in kennels for the rest of his life or be put to sleep and has a better chance at finding a home in Scotland.. from being found in Marske woods on 13th October to a last minute rescue space in Scotland with all paperwork etc signed off yesterday to prevent him being stuck in kennels.

Absolutely magical… we wish Rolo the best of luck.

Our beautiful boy Rex enjoying life with one of his best pals Jim, one of our amazing volunteers🤍

The clocks are ticking, another day has come to an end and our boy is still waiting with no home and none lined up😖We think the world of Rex but we don’t want a life of kennels for him💔 we have one month😖

We know there’s a home out there for him♥️

We are looking for a Responsible, Loving , Safe home for our Boy REX ❤️
Yes, he may be classified as an XL Bully,

Whoever adopts Rex will have our full support and we will deal with all the legal work of registration with our legal team, providing everything that will be needed.
Rex and his new owner will have full rescue back up for life .
Aswell as Free boarding when owners on holiday🐾

REX is first and foremost, a loyal friendly dog, homeless through no fault of his own. He is a big boy with an even bigger heart ♥️ He has never shown aggression or put a paw wrong .

Rex was taken from a bad owner along with his sister and another dog and placed in kennels, before coming to us for rehoming.
He has been properly and thoroughly assessed and found to be of good reliable temperament, he loves all his human Friends he is not protective or aggressive in any way,

REX needs a home NOW whilst it is still legal to rehome him . He is not to blame for what other dogs have done. Dogs that are homed appropriately and registered if and when required are NOT illegal to own .

Rex needs an adult home with capable strong owner/ owners and house that is safe and secure to meet with any recommendations. Rex needs a pet free home🏡.
Rex will need to be on a lead at all times in a public place , a responsible approach to safety during very challenging times . He will be muzzle trained , it’s not that he needs a muzzle , the law will insist that all XL Bullies wear one in public . Dogs very soon adapt to this .

PLEASE step up for REX , stand up for dogs that are innocent of blame. Real dog lovers will do this🙏

Does your dog have a favorite song? Years ago my Aussie (who has since passed) used to absolutely love “Poker Face” by Lady GaGa. When it would come on he would perk up, I would respond by asking him if he wanted to dance. We would dance and skip around the house together while it played. At some point what had likely happened was that the song had come on, and I had reacted in a way he found positive, so he got excited, so I got further excited. And the result was a pattern that the song signaled for him something happy. I like to pretend it was just because he really liked Lady GaGa.

But something that gets forgotten in talking about behavior, behavior modification, learning and teaching is...that sometimes we just need to be silly with our dogs. Dogs love it when we run with them, I have often told clients to run (or jog, or just move fast) with their dog as a reinforcement technique. It’s fun for them, they get a kick out of doing things like running around together. They also like to dance around in the kitchen with us. They like to move, with us. They love to move, with us.

I want to remind you that moving with your dog is a great way to bond, it’s fun and relieves stress for both of you. Movement is good for the body and the mind. So think of ways to incorporate moving together with your dog into your routine. Challenge yourself to take time a couple of days this coming week to spend 5 or 10 minutes just running around the backyard, dancing in the kitchen, racing the hall with your dog. See what happens after, you’d be surprised what a little silliness can achieve.

Please don't walk your dogs in these high temperatures, take them out very early in the day or late evening. Not going for a walk won't do any harm but even "just down the road" could burn their paws which is extremely painful. Straight out and straight back in for toilet purposes will suffice. In any event please carry water with you in case you get caught out. Zig zag if you have to. Look for grass verges to walk on and cross over to the side of the street which is in shade. Even if shade is provided in the garden, its not guaranteed that your dog will use it so keep a close eye on what they're doing. If you see a dog which has collapsed and/or is panting excessively, drape a wet towel over and splash with slightly cooled NEVER COLD water and seek Veterinary attention asap

Excellent online dog training through the pandemic !

Following a very successful couple of weeks of In Home Training, during which we send our clients daily emails with training sessions pre-planned, in a progressive and structured way, we are now willing to offer this to other dog owners.

Especially those that have recently got puppies that now need some form of training.

The session we are now offering is a 3 week training crash course. Covering Recall, Sits, Downs, Retrieve / Fetch, Heelwork and much more besides.

If you are interested in taking part, you will receive:-

- A daily email with what to work on.
- Access to our WhatsApp Group & Facebook Group
- Video explanations where needed
- And a lot of fun in the process.
- As much email support as you need
