We recently shared this small animal vet vacancy at Glenythan Vet Group and got the following (unprompted!) feedback from a client who is also a vet professional:

"This is a lovely practice, speaking as a client. It reminds me of practices when I trained 20 years ago (not in terms of clinical standards) when practices were all independent was a much more relaxed and often had staff dogs behind reception, et cetera. Established team and has a family feel to it. Affordable vet care too .... so I suspect the client base is pretty happy. If anyone’s wanting to relocate, this is a really lovely area and one of the most affordable places in the UK!"

‼️ Avian Influenza Prevention Zone‼️
Following an increase in the number of detections of avian influenza (bird flu) in wild birds and other captive birds, the Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer from Scotland and Chief Veterinary Officer from England have declared a national Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) to mitigate the risk of the disease spreading amongst poultry and other captive birds.

This means that from 12:00 noon on Saturday 25 January, it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers in Scotland and England to follow strict biosecurity measures to help protect their flocks from the threat of avian flu.

Safety Warning from VMD/FSA – Behavioural changes possibly linked with dog chews from China

**No UK distribution has been identified but VMD advising people be alert to situation*****

The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and other countries have issued warnings regarding dogs exhibiting acute neurological signs following consumption of certain chews and chew bones originating in China. No UK distribution has been identified.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is advising dog owners not to feed their pets specific dog chews from China following concerns from the European Union (EU) of a possible link to serious behavioural changes
